Large and Detailed
I am really pleased with these baroque style silicone molds! Because they can withstand heat up to 446°F, they can be used for more than just baking but also for crafting as well. I've used heat safe silicone molds with my hot glue gun to quickly and cheaply make embellishments for costumes, plain frames, etc., and after painting and finishing, you cannot tell I started out with hot glue as my medium. The large pieces still have a lot of really beautiful detail that shows up, and work really well to add into cosplay/costuming elements. Even though it's easy enough to de-mold hot glue without it, I do tend to brush the insides of my molds with a pigment powder for the easiest release, and I use a very light dusting of corn starch when working with polymer clay so they pop out easily and neatly every time. For chocolate, the best results tend to be putting in a first layer, gently tapping the mold on the counter to release any air bubbles that may be lurking on the actual mold details, giving that a few minutes to set up, and then adding in the rest of the chocolate. I keep a dedicated scraper to level the backs of the molds so they're even after the final fill and tap prior to putting the chocolate into the fridge to set up.Clean up has been very easy, very warm, sudsy water and a soft bristled cleaning brush cleans out all the nooks and crannies. I hand wash and air dry all my silicone molds because despite them being heat safe, I'd like to keep them in the best condition I can, for as long as possible, and it seems like we have the longest life spans when we stick with hand cleaning.I am really thrilled with the size and quality as well as how many different uses this mold has. I'd love to see the seller offer more sets similar to this, or a bundled set offering!
