Not a bad product - used it for French Bread too!
The 10.5" Bread Slicer for Sourdough - Bamboo Homemade Bread Cutter Guide is a pretty decent product. Out of the box it is extremely intuitive and easy to setup. The only thing I would suggest looking out for is that at first glance I didn't notice that the "teeth" were different sizes and they get wider front to back. I had inadvertently had one of the guides flipped (there isn't an obvious front or back) and obvious this is a problem since your knife won't align correctly.Since my wife backs sourdough quite regularly and it always has a nice hard crust, it can be a little troublesome to cut straight. I like that the cutting guides allow you to cut up to a 10.5" loaf - which is pretty big - and smaller loaves or smaller pieces equally well by simply adjusting the placement of the back guide or the two "teeth". My wife also used it to cut a loaf of french bread to make garlic bread. She didn't actually need it, but have the guide handy made cutting straight, even pieces very easy.I also liked that it had a crumb catcher even if it doesn't catch all the crumbs. When not in use, the back and two side "teeth" fit inside the "crumb" space.The price point on this is $37 which seems like alot at first glance, but I would say is about what I would expect to pay for such an item with this construction type.

I have mixed feelings about this product
First thing I’d recommend is to take the extra rubber feet they come with and cut them and place them on the bottoms of the inserted rack and two side guards-that’ll safe A LOT of frustration during use with the “slipping” issue.Next, a long knife for wide loaves. I’ve been using this bamboo bread cutter guide for slicing my loaves and some things to note are: the knife can slice the bamboo side of the guides (if you’re not careful) also there will be knife markers on the tray you slice on. Does this put bamboo into my bread? I’m not sure, maybe.I do like I get somewhat even slices (depending on the alignment and movement of the parts) with the mortise and tenon construction of this design; and sometimes it’s easier to slice the bread using a guide. It especially works great on my loaf shaped breads and my Pullman loaves.The mess-free crumb catcher is a win and I love it can double as a serving tray plus the parts fit inside for a clean put-away look. Crafted from thick, 100% organic bamboo it gives off high-end vibes.Be careful with the guide that holds the two side guides in place. I had to replace mine when it wasn’t assembled straight and the tray broke trying to get the misaligned piece off. This bread slicer works on the big artisan loaves as well, just be sure your knife is long enough and strong enough. I bought a new knife for slicing bread and using this slicer.I gifted one to my sister, whom I gift baked bread to as well…lol she loved it! I set hers up with the additional rubber feet’s on the tray insert and two side guides so it won’t frustrate her while she’s using it.I gave it four stars because the bamboo is getting sliced up ( as seen in the photos) on the side guides and the tray. I just cut bread a bit ago so you can see it holds the crumb well inside the tray.Are the slices even? No but better than slicing by hand.

We love making bread in our bread machine which means we need to slice it up. In the past, I just used a flat cutting board. While this works, my slices tended to be uneven and crooked. I purchased this bread cutting board so it would be easier to cut even bread slices.The design of this slicer is very versatile. You can adjust the pieces to fit your loaf. The cutting guide allows for regular sized slices. Or many times we enjoy them double width. It's great how the crumbs all fall in the bottom tray for easy cleaning.I like how easy the bread slicer was to put together. Five simple pieces. Then they all go back inside the bottom tray for compact storage. The quality of the materials is great. This is all solid wood. There are silicone feet on the bottom tray to keep it from slipping.This is a great solidly built bread cutting board. It is versatile for cutting many sized loafs. Takes some getting used to but a quality product.
I occasionally make homemade bread with a bread maker machine. For me, the hardest thing to do is to cut the bread in even slices. I have been looking at bread cutting options for quite some time but just wasn’t sure how well they would work. So when the opportunity came up to get one on the vine then I jumped at it.Everything arrived well-packaged. The materials appear to be good quality. Things fit compactly to save space and I like that very much.It is pretty easy to set up and figure out. Also a plus. I do think this takes some practice to get used to using it. I wasn’t quite as good with slicing my bread as I was thinking I would be but my bread still came out way more evenly sliced than if I was doing it free-handed so that is a win for me.I really like how this can be used for all shapes and sizes of bread. I appreciate the versatility for using this. Overall I think this is a good quality bread slicer that will be an asset to a bread maker, especially once they get the hang of using it.
