This is the best knife I have ever owned! I am only using it for breads, but I am tempted to use it for other things! It is truly sharp (watch your fingers!) I bought a blade guard, and I recommend that others do, as well.

This knife works great! I bought it to slice my sourdough bread, it works really great! No more hassle to cut the bread, but I have also used it to slice my roast, tomatoes etc, just be-careful handling it as it is very sharp! I highly recommend it, so easy to use, the length is great and the price is right! Go for it!

VERY SHARP knife. So far have not had to deal with a particularly hard crust, but from what I can tell its start with a little bit of a sawing motion through the crust and then just press through the bread and it "cuts like butter". Had one partial loaf of bread out when this arrived and it was soooo nice. The last loaf I baked sat in the dutch oven for about half an hour after it came out of the oven (we were eating dinner when it was done), and the moisture build up softened the crust. Have been using the bread knife/board that my parents got as a wedding present in 1946, so it was definitely time for a new knife!
