Love the rustic look
I have several cake stands, but I didn't have anything like this one. It has a very rustic look to it. It does turn, so you could decorate your cake directly on the cake stand if you wanted. how It has smooth coating on top so you can wipe it clean.I was very impressed with the gold knife, server, and forks. They all are much better quality than I expected. They are not lightweight throw ins.As soon as I opened this cake stand, I knew I wanted to do a naked cake. For Thanksgiving I made an apple spiced cake. It looked fantastic on the cake stand. There was an imperfection in the top. It wasn't scratched but a defect. I know I could have exchanged it, but since the cake would cover it, I didn't want to go through the process of swapping it. But I wanted to mention in case you get this for a gift to check it.Overall, I really love this addition to my kitchen. I normally gravitate to traditional items, so it is nice to have something a little different. I wouldn't pay that much for just the stand, but the addition of the gold utensils makes it a good value.
