Great heavy duty tongs. They're rather large - good because it makes them durable but also a little difficult to use compared to more lightweight ones, especially for littles or those with dexterity trouble. All in all great, just be mindful of the size.
These bamboo tongs are precisely what we needed for ease of handling small bits of tempered chocolate that we give out as samples of our boutique chocolate bars. We tried small metal or plastic tongs, they tend to stick to the chocolate bits, mangle the chocolate with their bent teeth or edges, and are awkward to operate. The flat gripping surface of these tongs makes grabbing and dispensing samples a breeze, and the natural springiness of the bamboo is very comfortable to work with.In my opinion the price is higher than justified on the basis of materials and probable production costs alone, but these are by far the superior product for our application. 5 stars.
My toaster came with plastic tongs and a slot to place them in. Somewhere along the line, the tongs disappeared. These toaster tongs grip surprisingly well, and the smaller ones fit in the tong slot with no problem. I love that it’s wood instead of plastic. The longer one has become a favorite for pulling things from the toaster oven.I love how many tongs you get in a set, and I’ve placed a few in the laundry room and with my crafting/gardening supplies. My only complaint is that the glue could be stronger. One of the long ones arrived in two pieces, and another was starting to pull apart (see image). Since the wood wasn’t broken, I used some wood glue to fix them, and they are now totally functional. If any more should pull apart, I’ll simply glue them back together, but the rest feel and look solidly connected.
Unlike many tools for extracting toast from a toaster, these fit without issue. They are easily cleaned, non conductive, and do not have softer parts that can tear off. They have notches that allow better grip, not requiring as much pressure, like smooth tongs do. Costing nineteen dollars, the cost per tong is barely over a dollar and a half each. These tongs are worth getting, since they make great holders for other things besides food. I am using one set to hold metal rings with a polished finish that I am welding, since these tongs are not conductive, they keep the current going exactly where I want.
A large set of bamboo tongs in a few different lengths. I appreciate that they are made of a sustainable material.They appear to be glued together at the base, as one of them arrived separated and another one popped while I tested it after closing it about 20 times. The others held up to the same testing.It looks like I should be able to glue them back together easily but they might want to look at their glue composition, application, and/or clamping methods.
I have tongs in a drawer right by my toaster oven/air fryer for people to grab their items, however, if they haven't made it through the wash or have something on them from earlier (like who wants to grab a warmed cinnamon roll with the same tongs you used to pick up your buffalo wings!) Now I have a selection!Also, we have 2 big parties each year and these are great for people to use for rolls or other things. I am putting a set in each bread basket for thanksgiving so people don't have to reach in with their hands.They are simple so they go with different dinnerware, and they are bamboo, so they don't scratch and won't conduct heat like metal. I don't know how durable they are, I don't think you're going to be picking up heavy cans or whole chickens with these, but for typical use, they're great. They gave little lines cut into the ends that touch food, so it gives them a little more friction to hold things. Not sure if you can see that in my photo.) There are no washing directions, but I wouldn't put wood in a dishwasher, so hand wash it is.
I love these toaster tongs so much that I am gifting them to my friends along with a loaf of my homemade sourdough bread! I keep a pair close to my toaster for easy use. They are inexpensive and a safe way to remove toasted items from a toaster. Every kitchen should have a pair!
