Good
I'm actually quite satisfied with this water bottle and only deducted one star because althought it's quite nice, it doesn't fully live up to its claims. If there were half-stars available for reviews, I'd give it 4.5 stars, since it is among the better bottles in its price range.PROS:- Attractive- Easy to clean, no BPAs etc. because of stainless steel construction- Easy to carry by handle.- Lid unscrews quickly, so it's not a hassle for someone like me who takes frequent sips of water- tea infuser is nice. You can put loose tea or fruit and the filter keeps it from being sipped into your mouth- It has a nice ring to it if you bump it against something (which I do a lot as I lurch around my home), useful for a gong during meditation ;-)- Nice size. It's larger than my previously favorite bottle so I don't have to refill it as often- leak proof if you take care to screw the lid on properly- Very little condensation so it's safe to keep in a bag or sit on a surface you'd prefer not to get wet- And of course, it keeps liquids cold or hot for a long time. I like chilled water and it stays acceptably cold for the several hours before I'm ready to refill it. (see comment below)CONS (very minor)- It doesn't really live up to its claim of 24 hours for cold liquids and 12 hours for hot. I tested it filled with water and ice cubes and after 24 hours it was still cooler than room temperature but the ice had all melted. I then tested it with water that had just boiled in my water kettle, and it was just lukewarm after about 4 hours. You can feel the cold or the hot from the outside of the bottle sometimes, as well as from the lid. The claims aren't exactly deceptive, and I usuallly use up a bottle full 2 or 3 times a day, so this is minor. I just prefer clearer description.- It's easy to not quite screw the lid back on properly, at which point it may leak if you carry it on its side. So if you carry it in a bag, take a little extra care when putting the lid back on.- Sometimes when jostling around, a little water will get between the lid and opening and drip out when you open the lid - more so if you haven't screwed the lid back on properly- When I unpacked the bottle, the gasket for the lid was loose. It's not too hard to seat it, but it does take a bit of work. Be sure to check that or it will leak a lot.All in all, I think it's thoughtfully designed and a good value for the money compared to other bottles.
It's one coffee cup size and like how is not too bulky
Only looks nice. The lid doesn’t secure so it leaks and won’t keep temperature.
After filling the bottle with hot coffee and closing the lid, the lid feels hot, which means heat is escaping. After three hours, the coffee that’s left is just lukewarm.
This looks great from the outside, but when you look closer...- There is a visible weld seam on both the threaded part and the inside.- When there is hot liquid inside, the lid gets quite hot, which means it's losing a lot of heat.- The thread tolerance is very loose, and thus you need to keep the lid level when screwing it on to get a good seal, otherwise it can go on crooked and it'll leak.- You can feel metal grinding/rubbing when screwing on the lid, but that's normal--that's why most other bottles use plastic threads on the lid.Anyways, I got the smallest 12oz size and it's good for a few good gulps of water on short trips, so the difficulty of screwing on the lid is not too annoying.
I really like nugget ice. It's really, really good and makes the PERFECT snack when I need one. Sounds crazy but it keeps the jaws chomping when I don't need to keep adding notches to my belt. But the problem: it melts. I mean, it's one of the only snacks in the world that if you don't think about it, it will just disappear (ah, maybe the monsters under my bead as a child were made out of ICE!). This meant that I get nugget ice at home when I don't need a snack, but at work, when I am most likely to snack away, I can't have it.Given this issue, I thought I'd give this waters bottle a try. At 25 oz, it looks great and has great storage capacity. And if it works just as nice as it looks, I will have cracked the code to guiltless snacking at work. The first time I used it, I filled it to the top with nugget ice right as I prepared to go to work in the morning. I backed periodically through the day, but failed to finish my icy meal before I had to go home for the day. Once home, the hustle and bustle of life made me forget it existed, untilt he following day at around Noon. I opened it up and poured out the water that was inside, which to my surprise left me with a LOT of nugget ice in the bottom. After about 30 hours, this had not only kept my ice cool, but it had retained the ice's shape and soft crunchines the entire time as well. I was super surprised.Nugget ice aside, this is an awesome water bottle. It doesn't leak, has. a solid handle, and even contains an internal strainer (I use it to pour out water without losing the ice). I haven't tried anything hot, but if it's inulated this well when containing ice, this has got to be amazing for hot drinks as well.
