Love this one for neat and tidy storage of all the pieces!

The ease of storage with this piece alone is fantastic! All the blades store in the base and then the two tops pieces sit nicely on top of the storage base. Everything doesn't have to come out of the storage - just lift out the central piece.It's similar to most choppers - you have to prep the veg to fit on the chopping blades and it requires strength to press the veg through the blades. While it's not easy to use, it definitely works well.There is a claw included for ease of cleaning the attached press plate. I'm so grateful to have an attached plate this time. The last one I had was supposed to be "easier" to clean, but every time I used it the back plate fell off, so relieved not to have that one anymore.While the base could use some grippy feet, it still sits well. I may add some rubber feet in the little holes on the base, but for now I'm using it on a grippy mat on my slick counters.

Moderately functional but only when you have nothing else

Overall, this is a fairly versatile mandoline tool but also one that really misses the mark in some basic areas.It includes a number of inserts for slicing, julienne, dicing and spiralizing and a separate stand-alone peeler.There is also one insert for separating egg yolks from whites, which seems a bit out of place in a slicer/chopper.General slicing, dicing and julienne are pretty good.I have never tried spiralizing anything before, but that made more of a mess than anything.Using a fresh cucumber, it mostly turned it to mush and clogged up the blades.A carrot did produce better results, perhaps the cucumber was too soft or something.The blades seem pretty sharp so be very careful when handling and cleaning the attachments.It did not take me long to accumulate a few finger cuts, without even realizing when they happened.I've avoided this type of slicer in the past because they seem like a lot of overkill when all you want is a slice of onion on your sandwich.Setup and cleanup takes way more time than actually using it.Simple slicing is what I would use it for 95% of the time.However, there is only a single slicing attachment and that one makes extremely thin slices.I find it very surprising that they did not include a few different thicknesses, especially considering that they do have two attachments for julienne and two for dicing.The lid does not snap into place on the container, nor is it connected by any type of hinge.The back end has a slight lip to hold it in place... but since the front end does not have the same, the lid tends to come off a little too easily.In addition, the bottom of the lid is smooth plastic.It's going to slide around if you use it directly on a counter or cutting board.It would have been far more versatile if they had considered that option and made it non-slip on the bottom.Unless you're planning to mix all of your ingredients right away, you would probably want to empty and clean the container between each vegetable.It is quite annoying having to use the big container when all you want is a single slice of something.Lastly, the safety holder is way too small.It does have prongs that keep it attached to the vegetable, but its small size makes it very awkward to hold onto.And since it is smaller than the width of the slicing blades, it still leaves your knuckles and fingers exposed to the blades.If you absolutely want to have a single device that tries to do it all, this might work for you.Otherwise, you are probably better off using separate tools that are more convenient to use and also do a better job.

Helps prep food for several people around the holidays.

My wife gets tasked with complicated dishes during the holidays, which usually involves a lot of chopping and a lot of swearing. When she feels the pressure to make great food for my in-laws, I’m going to have a bad time. I started to dread the lead-up to every holiday, but I am a solution guy, so I ordered this to hopefully make whatever occasion a little merrier.It worked. She says she needs less prep time, and it cuts well enough. From my perspective, there seems to be less frustration involved for her, which I recommend for anyone who has been in the same boat as me around the holidays.Since I am both a team player and have some PTSD from past family gatherings, I thought I would try to build a little equity, so I volunteered to clean up. Easy-peasy. It felt sturdy enough, so it appears to be well made.My only gripe is that there are so many parts, and I had to wash and keep track of them, so I knocked off a star, even though that might actually be a feature to most folks.I’ll level with you: I don’t have a ton of experience with these sorts of devices, but this one appears to be a worthy addition to your kitchen. Buy it.
