Still leak proof without the seals and the tool included is handy!

The lids have been fine and fit and are leak proof. I did notice that with the seal in place, they are a little hard to get off. I have arthritis and I was bummed at first until I remembered a reviewer saying they ditched the seals and the lids remained leak proof! I tried and I agree! No issues so far and they are so much easier to screw on and off. This would be a 4 star review but I bumped it up to a 5 since the little metal tool they included to remove the seals is SO handy. I mean it’s the cutest little tool and I use it on ALL my other lids and things with seals! Thanks for including it!

Great mason jar lid alternative

We replaced the metal lids on our mason jars. These don't seal the jars like metal do when you are canning, but we don;t use our jars for that. We typically store leftover veggies to keep fresh - slices cucumbers, diced onion, etc. for a week or two. These lids fit perfectly on mason jars and they wash well in dishwasher.

Love these plastic lids, they get the job done and in some ways more versatile than aluminum lids.

I really like these plastic mason jar lids, and I had never seen anyone using anything besides the traditional mason jar lids until I specifically searched for plastic lids. My husband explained to me why my standard aluminum mason jar lids were getting rusty so quickly - I often make my own infused cleaning vinegar and store it in a mason jar, but the lids get rusty and hard to twist open. He said "Yep, vinegar and aluminum don't mix well together" haha. Now that I have plastic lids, problem solved. Since I don't ever use mason jars for canning purposes it just makes sense to use a regular plastic lid for my miscellaneous temporary food storage or homemade cleaning products. I also like that it's all one piece, I never liked the two step process of opening (and cleaning) those traditional aluminum lids with the separate band and lid (but of course those totally makes sense for someone who does canning). These lids also come with removable rubber bands (comes with a special tool to remove them, too!) to make them more leak proof if you are concerned about that. I also liked the price compared to buying the aluminum lids as well. For non-canning purposes, this is a great choice.

No rust, leak-proof, and easy to clean.

I don’t like using the metal lids that typically come with mason jars because they are prone to rust. They are really only good for canning, but not general use. I like these lids because they have removable silicone inserts that help create a tighter, leak-proof seal. I buy mason jars that come without lids so I don’t have to throw away the metal ones.
