I bought this because at the time our microwave could not use a magnetic cover. It has worked great for us until my husband accidentally melted part of it on the stove. We have since bought a new microwave and switched to a magnetic cover, but I do recommend this one if people don’t want the magnet. The silicone placemat also worked great for getting hot dishes out
My microwave is so much cleaner. I absolutely love this set. When things bubble over the silicone pad catches it ant the cover prevents splatters from the top and sides of my oven.
I like the set up. The mat grips the plates and other objects really well and if something spills you just pick up the mat and clean it. The top works well also keeps food from getting dry and prevents food from getting all over the place inside the microwave. Only con for me is I would like the top to be a little deeper if you warm up bulky food it hits the top sometimes.
I love the mat in particular. It we works to keep splatters off the turn table in the microwave but I particularly use it when I'm kneading my bread dough. I flour the clean mat and keep it off the counter. Cleans easily. In fact I purchased it for kneading, not as a microwave help. That was a bonus.
I had microwave cover that was not easy to use. This one has easy to pick up cover and can be used to drain noodles or vegetables. I love it.
Oh yeah. It's in the microwave.Pro: Larger than I thought. It covers my large plates. I have a very large microwave oven so it might not fit in a smaller machine.It has holes in it! (more later)It keeps the inside splatter free. <<<only if I remember to put it back in the oven firstIt comes with a "trivet". More silicone. Plates havent moved since I started using it.Con: It is difficult to lift off the plate. Well it is difficult for me. I'm a bit short and have problems getting my arm in far enough to grab the top of the lid.Don't know why I didn't think of this myself. The holes allow for air circulation. This would make it easy to rinse off fruits or vegetables. I haven't tried that yet as I have yet to move it from the sink or microwave. (yes, I do wash it) I put a hard boiled egg in the nuker and thought I only needed a 1 min reheat. It was the first time I didn't put the "lid" on. There was more egg on the walls of the microwave than left to eat. Haven't forgotten to use it since.Granted you have to use the microwave to use this. Even if its only to reheat leftovers, but especially if they have a tomato based sauce, its still a good thing to have. I'd recommend.
We always used paper towels to cover. After switching to this cover, it stays in place, no splatters in the microwave. Slip resistance, heat resistance. storage capacity is easy keep it in the microwave so one forgets to use it. Look is nice and easy to pick up and functionality is fantastic.
