Non stick and baked evenly

I've baked a banana bread and an egg sandwich bread in them. No sticking and they came out perfectly baked. Looking forward to Sourdough sandwich bread.

The set I never knew I needed

My kitchen has red tiles and my mixer is red, so these pans jumped out at me the first time I laid eyes on them. I had already ordered the cast iron pans from this same company, and the accessories are all the same. The pans however, are very different, and I love the red.For years I've made plain white bread for our family. I hope to try sourdough soon and even recently found someone willing to pass their starter to me, but after this set arrived, I realized that it would be better for me to stick with what I know for the purposes of giving the product a fair review. If I use more of the tools when making sourdough, I’ll update my reviews.1) Instructions & Recipe Booklet: The instructions are super-helpful. They explain how to care for the pans, which is a bit different from my old glass pans and also different from the cast iron bread pans! Some of the instructions were a bit confusing, though (how do you preheat without bread in them when they’re also not supposed to be empty?), so I had to rely on Internet research to answer those questions. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but several are included. If you are like me and are unfamiliar with proofing baskets or bread lames, you will have to rely on internet searches for those as well.2) The Pans: Fortunately, others have already tried these and explained that there is no need to season them. Since I had already had quite an adventure attempting to season a set of cast iron bread pans, this was a welcome relief. I did follow the instructions for precleaning and cleaning them after use. I wound up cooking two loaves of bread. The first loaf I let rise part way and then moved it into the oven to finish rising as the oven preheated. The second loaf I had ready-to-go so I could place it in the preheated pan right after the first loaf finished cooking. I covered both loaves with the second pan. Both loaves came out very well. The second loaf rose more, but it’s possible that it had more dough from the beginning because I don’t really measure when I divvy up the dough. It’s the loaf in the picture. At any rate, I was happy with both loaves and will definitely continue using these pans. They were easy to clean afterwards. I followed the directions and used warm water with the cleaning brush. Easy peasy! (I did spray them with baking oil before putting the dough in.)2) Proofing basket: I've never used a proofing basket before, so I had to go online to figure it out. I wasn't sure if you should stick the loaf directly in the basket and use the cloth as a cover, or keep the cloth in the basket and set the dough on top. Turns out, you could do either one! I chose to spread flour on the cloth and put the dough on it, and it worked very well. The dough was the perfect size when I was ready to place it in the pan.3) Bread lame with blades: I had never used a lame before, so I had to research it a bit. I definitely do not have the hang of it yet, but I was able to place a blade on it and experiment with it, and it worked. I didn’t have any trouble cutting through the dough.4) Cleaning brush: After I baked the bread, I used this while cleaning the pans, and it worked great. The bristles are tight but soft.5) Silicone oven mitts: These do not work well, and I will never use them again. I almost took off a star for them, but this set includes so many other high-quality items that I feel like removing a star for them would be too much of a penalty.6) Bread scrapers, dough stirrer, and silicone sling: I did not use any of these items. However, they appear to be well made. The silicone sling seems pretty big, though. The plastic scraper is stiff and sturdy; the metal scraper has a centimeter ruler on it and does not wobble at all where the metal is attached to the wood, and the bread stirrer also appears sturdy and steady. I'm hanging on to all of these items in case I need them when I finally make sourdough. If not, I'm sure I will use those scrapers at other times, especially when Christmas baking begins! This is a fantastic set, and I highly recommend it!

Well made

These are beautiful pans and the kit comes with just about everything you need for baking bread although the pans can be used for baking everything. The pans have an enamel coating on the outside and inside so I was a little surprised by the directions to coat the pans with vegetable oil and season in a 450° oven for an hour. So I did and after one hour I took them out and they were a mess. Burnt oil covering everything and it wouldn't scrub off. So I had to soak them overnight in a bag with Ammonia in it. The next morning I scrubbed them clean. The directions say not to preheat in the oven but they were wrong about the oil and I have a Dutch Oven that is cast iron and enamel coated they should be fine. So I put both pans in the oven to pre heat to 475° for about an hour. Went to put the bread in the pan but the bread sling is to big so I had to quickly cut some parchment paper so I could put the dough into the pan. Placed the other pan on top and finished baking like it was a dutch oven. And the bread turned out fine.

I Smell Bread in the Oven

Please Note: Disregard the Instructions in the ad regarding preseasoning, after-use care, and cleaning. I have used enameled cast iron for several decades, and those steps are unnecessary.I ordered the 9×5-inch VONATES Enameled Cast Iron Loaf Pan with Lid to replace my metal pans that are showing signs of rusting. The Loaf Pans have red enamel on the outside with a creamy white interior. I won't have any rusting issues with these. This size of loaf pan is perfect for bread, sweet breads, or baking a meatloaf.Care is easy by washing in warm, soapy water, but avoid soaking. If there is debris stuck inside, soak the inside with soapy water for 15 minutes and use a non-abrasive brush or scrubber. Thoroughly dry with a clean towel.I had some frozen bread dough, which I used for my first attempt with these pans. I lightly sprayed each pan with a non-stick cooking spray and placed a #1 frozen loaf in each pan. A larger loaf size is recommended, but these were the only ones available.Over the next seven hours, the frozen dough thawed. I preheated the oven to 350°F and placed the loaf pans on a rack in the upper oven. In 24 minutes, I had two beautiful loaves of bread. As I like a softer crust, I covered the bread with some butter. After the pans cooled, I used a paper towel to wipe a little residue and a few crumbs left inside each pan. Next, a quick soapy water cleaning and a thorough drying had these loaf pans looking like new.I read where the two loaf pans can be used as a Dutch oven. Placing the two pans together, which aren't designed for this, could easily topple over. Between the weight of the two pans and the dough, there is a considerable amount of weight to balance and maneuver into the oven. Besides, I already have two different sizes of Dutch ovens that I use when making bread. As a Bonus, this set of loaf pans comes with a good selection of hand tools for making bread dough. I already have these tools, and they are of the same quality as the ones I already have. A good recipe booklet for bread is included. The Banneton wicker basket is not my favorite style, but it will work. The included pink silicon finger mitts are too thin, as I discovered when I took the first loaf pan out of the oven. I recommend not using these. The silicon bread sling is oversized for these loaf pans, and I'll use it in my largest Dutch oven.
