Mason 1.5 Gallon Bottles (2)

Mason has been around for so long in my country even before I was walking. But I have never seen one of their bottles this large.The first impression was how sturdy and solid it is. It is made of thick clear glass with a silicon cover on the lower portion to cushion drops and bumps against hard surfaces. Measurement markings are embossed in the glass. Years ago Mason used reddish, brownish gaskets to seal the cover to the container. It is still there only it is white silicone now and hugs the screw-on cover sealing it tightly. The gasket is as white as the cover so you might miss its presence. You’ll see a small protruding tap sticking out of it. Just tug on the protruding tab - it pops out. Washing it is not a problem due to the wise opening. Mason jars were usually used for fermenting. I am using them for storage.Mason is still with us only with innovative changes that makes them even a better product. I’m not sure yet what I am going to store in it. But I don’t have to worry about what ever goes into it for a long time.

Very versatile large storage jars

These large Mason Jars are awesome. They are made from very thick and heavy glass with a plastic spin off lid that has a silicone gasket to create a leak-proof seal. There is a removable metal collar that the metal handle attaches to. The jars are calibrated on one side in ML and the other side in ounces. They feature a removable silicone cover on the bases to protect your countertops as well as keep the jars in place.They hold A LOT of whatever you want to put in them. At 1.5 gallons, they stand almost a foot tall and 6" square. You can fill them with Pounds of things like pasta, cookies, granola, flour, sugar and just about anything else you can think of. There is a wide mouth opening that allows you to put your hand in to grab whatever is in there.The lid provides a leakproof seal so you can feel comfortable using these jars for things like pickling, fermenting, and making great punches and sangria. Plus they look great on your counter.

Is it pickle season yet?

These jars are absolutely awesome! It's middle of winter here in the Midwest but come summertime they will be perfect for pickling my garden cucumbers. Firstly, they arrive packaged very well. No cracks or breakage. The silicone on the bottom is a good idea and a great addition considering the size of the jar, once filled it can become very heavy. The silicone will help protect the jar from dings when placing it down. The side of the jar is graded with milliliters on one side and ounces on the other side. The handle seems very sturdy and will be helpful to carry this massive jar. It is a wide-mouth jar and as you can see in the photo, my fist is in and there's still room around it. You can easily clean the jar reaching all the way to the bottom. My current pickle jar is so tiny in comparison-i can't wait to be able to use this one this summer.

The 2 Pack 1.5 Gallon Large Glass Jar with Airtight Lid are a great size for all sorts of supplies for both short or long term storage. The jars are easy to clean and quickly dry with the wide mouth. The wide mouth makes it easy to scoop out whatever you are storing in the jars. The strong metal handles make the jars easy to carry and place in storage. The non-slip base is a very good feature that keeps them from slipping on the counter when loading or unloading the jars. The non-slip base is nice in that it prevents counter top scratches. The lids on the jars are nice that they have a seal that keeps the containers sealed but the lids are very large and smaller hands will find them difficult to open. If the lids had a recessed indent built into the lid that could be used to assist in twisting the lid off.
