Great Alternative to Plastic
I spent a lot on my pots and pans so I don't ever use metal utensils in them. I am also trying to get away from plastics that apparently are putting teeny bits into my bloodstream. These acacia wood scrappers are a great alternative. They are hard wood and durable - I expect them to last for years. I keep one for stovetop pot and skillet cooking and the other for mixing and blending for baking. They have a nice curve that allows me to get right down to the bottom. Also, if you've ever caught a spatula in the beaters of an electric mixer, at least the wood spatula won't harm the mixer. Even if you leave them in the sink soaking overnight (not recommended but, yes, I've done it) they aren't harmed. My grandmothers always used wooden spoons and spurtles and now I'm going back to the same. Recommended.
