I really like these. Perfect for large pies, but my 10 inch deep dish with different edges and weird oval handles do not fit. I still kept 1 and sent back the other 2. Do NOT carry by the handles with a full pie! The taker is very nice and the keeper containers are versatile.
This works great for transporting pies. The top zipper section is perfect for holding pie slicers / serving utensils.
The carrying bag is light weight and easy to carry with use of the handle. The two containers inside for your cheesecake, pie etc.has plenty of room without shifting your baked good all over the place. The zippers work well on both compartments of the carrying bag and the locks on the containers inside are easy to fasten.
I need 5 more stars! I love to bake. Especially pies. But after losing my high school sweetheart, best friend, and husband of 57 1/2 years, I don’t have anyone to bake for. So I’ve been baking for neighbors, but transportation was difficult. I searched Amazon, aka the everything store, and read about many circular ones where people had to cut cardboard to keep the sides from collapsing. This would be bad for any pie, but I’d planned a key lime, now that it’s getting close to summer. I’d be risking the lid messing up my pretty custard. I read some reviews that said it had stiff sides, and wow, is that true. Also, there’s room to stack two pies. I could fit my 9 1/2 inch pie pan with handles in with no problem and there’s even a mat that keeps it from sliding & messing up the crust.I’ve been shopping on Amazon since it first began in 1994, only sold books, and they sent out stainless steel travel mugs as gifts to all their customers every Christmas. Although I always read reviews, I seldom write them. But this may be the most brilliant thing I’ve ever bought in 31 years from the site.
I bought this to transport two homemade pies on a camping trip. It worked really well. Where we were traveling was not hot though, so that helped a lot. I think if it had been very hot outside, the pies would not have stayed cool in this insulated sack for long. There is a compartment above the pie containers where I put frozen ice packs, which helped. The plastic pie containers themselves were great with two minor issues. One is that your pie can slide around a bit inside the container, despite the provided silicone base. Didn’t damage my pies, but if I had something more delicate in there it would have (like a meringue). The second issue is the handles on the containers seem way too easy to pop out of their connecting sockets, so I wouldn’t carry the pie by the handles. They are useful however for getting the container in and out of the insulated sack. Haven’t tried the included cupcake/muffin separators yet but they look like they will do the job fine. I think I will get good use out of this set!
The carrying case for the cake, pie, and cupcake keepers is also a great way to store those items where they remain clean between uses. We have a large cabinet in our garage where we keep baking and cooking items that we don't use that frequently or that take up too much room. I have two of these cases where I keep all my cake, pie, and cupcake keepers. When not in use, they hang from a hook on the wall -- so they don't take up any additional cabinet or floor space but they are easily accessible when we need them.The cake keepers come in a few different sizes for different diameters of cake.When needed for transporting a cake or pie to a pot luck or other event, the keepers and carrying case do a good job of protecting the baked goods while en route. They are also a good way to store the baked goods in the refrigerator -- without worrying about them being damaged by other items in the fridge.I haven't had the keepers and cases for long, so can't say for sure how durable they are. So far, they seem like they will last a long time if they are mainained properly.
Bought this for my mom and she adores it. Everything works great and it is so easy to use.
