Makes baking easy
This two-pack of silicone funnels is very well made and clearly designed with KitchenAid mixers in mind but that specificity is also the most important thing to know before purchasing. The funnels themselves are high-quality, flexible silicone and feel durable enough to handle regular kitchen use. The concept is smart: each funnel has a silicone post attached that is meant to insert directly into the front accessory port of a KitchenAid stand mixer. When used as intended, this design would allow ingredients to be added neatly while the mixer is running, without spills or mess.Unfortunately, I did not read the product listing carefully enough and assumed these would work with any stand mixer. They do not. These funnels are 100% KitchenAid-specific. On my generic stand mixer, the front port cannot be disengaged or turned off, which causes the post to spin. As a result, the funnel rotates instead of staying stationary, making it unusable in its current form on non-KitchenAid machines. That said, this is not a flaw in the product just a compatibility issue. For anyone who owns a KitchenAid mixer, these funnels would likely work exactly as intended and be a very convenient accessory. I’m personally hoping to salvage them by cutting off the silicone post so I can still use the funnels manually, as the funnel portion itself is well sized and thoughtfully shaped.
Dry ingredients get stuck in funnel. Collapsible design sounded good, but I think that is why the ingredients get stuck.
The funnel helps you for making a mess with the flower all over when you’re mixing either in a bowl or anything else
I decided to give this a try as I am constantly making a mess when adding ingredients to my mixer. This comes in a 2 pack and is made of a high quality food grade silicone. It easily attaches to the mixer and is a chute that helps with adding ingredients to avoid making a huge mess. I find this particularly useful with flour and other dry ingredients, it definitely prevents the clouds of dust and mess. I like the functionality of the item as it can be used with any ingredients adding to the mixer, it helps control the speed and flow which they are added. This is dishwasher safe which makes cleanup very easy.
I picked this up so that I wouldn’t get flour everywhere when putting it in the bowl of a KitchenAid mixer. Unfortunately, it will not work with our KitchenAid mixer, which is an older model. Unlike the newer models that have the bowl forward of the mixer head, the bowl in the older models is further back.I didn’t get to test it due to the placement of the bowl. What I could see, though, is that it should be helpful.
This may have been my mistake, but I got this for my bowl lift mixer, and unfortunately the funnel falls a little short, but I have a family member who has the Tilt head and it works beautifully! I do still use this when pouring in dry ingredients, I just don't attach it to the top, and it does a good job of funneling in your ingredients without making a huge mess! Made of pretty sturdy silicone, it can easily collapse in on itself and easily be stored in a drawer or a cabinet, very easy to use and easy to clean as well! You can hand wash or throw it in the dishwasher, so as far as build quality it gets five stars! I also wish that it came in some of the other color options that are shown in the picture, I only got two white ones but nevertheless, still a pretty decent product!
