I had to return this. It was advertised to work for the 8 qt mixer, but the ring was too big. The metal spring also seemed a lot thinner and cheaper in person, than it looked in the pictures. I don't recommend this product for anyone. Try a different brand.
I like this kit because it is designed to be easy to install as the washer is a spit ring negating having to disassemble the mixer to install! And there is an extra spring!

This has the look and feel of a very cheap, generic item. Barely any material at all went into manufacturing this. Good thing it came with two, because you will likely need to replace it sooner than you think. The spring is super thin and will likely lose tension quickly. The washer is just as thin and bends so easily that if you are rough with it, it would definitely bend and break into pieces. The spring and washer are also mis-sized for a stand mixer. They will work and fit but its clear that the spring and washer were not made for and originally intended for a stand mixer. They are way bigger than OEM or a more high quality third-party part.
Came with no install instructions, and I know...I know...its stupid simple. And you'd be right. Spin the spring on, and then get the washer on. Unfortunately you have to bend the washer to get it past the pin and then its nearly impossible to get it perfectly flat again. Does it have to be? Probably not, but I guess small stuff like that bothers me. It was also kind of easy to bend the washer so that worries me about durability. At the end of the day it does what its supposed to do, but I also think the string needs to be stiffer than it is.
