This set of 2 fancy tongs offers multiple ways to use them. These include lifting hot dishes of various sizes, pulling out hot oven racks, opening jars of different sizes, and moving hot foods like baked potatoes. I did try to take a 9"x14" full pan out of the oven with these. I lifted it, but it was so heavy, I was afraid I might drop it, or there would be a malfunction and the casserole would go to waste, so I used pot holders. I could lift it, though. I tried opening a few bottles. I could open a medium-sized one, but not a small or a large one. I like that they can move hot baked potatoes and rolls, and easily open hot oven racks. I'm not using them as much as I thought I would, but I think part of it is that I'm so used to doing things differently that I forget to use them.They aren't dishwasher safe, but they are easily washed by hand. When they are open, they take up a lot of space, but there are small clips that hold them closed when stored. The product information warns that silicone parts are not glued on, so they might fall off during shipping. I believe those are the black parts on the rose red ones I have, and that other colors might have gray ones. The information says not to worry and just to press them back on, and the tongs will work perfectly. The price is comparable to other products of this type.

Not more dirty oven mitts
I got these grips for removing hot dishes from the microwave and toaster oven. It never fails that I will soil my oven mitts or pot holders whenever I do so. Only to find, when I need them again, they're in the laundry.These grips solved that problem. I can easily remove a bowl of hot soup from the microwave to place on a the table. Even though the grips are silicone, they do not melt or deform with the heat. To clean, simply run them under the faucet. The built in jar openers are a real plus, the older I get, the harder they seem to get.I'm always in favor of multi-use gadgets. There is an attached clip to hold them together for easy storage.

Cheap Plastic Barely Works
These are much larger than I anticipated and initially, I was excited by the prospect of their many uses. However, the lightweight plastic doesn't provide much confidence in use and the grip pads were peeling off upon arrival. These have a pretty limited use and I don't know many people who have the grip strength to use these to hold plates like in the photos. It also doesn't seem like these will last very long regardless, so I'd likely skip these and find a better alternative.

Not a stable and safe grip
They are made of cheap plastic in the first place, but the problem is not with the material; it is the fact that they are not precisely made. The two handles can easily wiggle around the hinge. You can't get a tight grip with it. You do not want them to move when you are holding a hot and heavy plate. All the black rubbers are just pushed into some grooves in the handles. They kept falling out when I held it in my hand. I have to push them back in all the time. The tips have a black rubber on each side, which is only loosely pushed in there. They are not glued or attached to the red handle in any trusted way. Whenever you are holding a plate, the black rubber may fall out because gravity is always trying to pull the black rubber out of the handles. The tips themselves are also too small in my opinion. They are only holding a tiny edge of a plate. Once I use it to grab a plate, I can easily use my other hand to take the plate out of it. If the plate has oil on its edge, it is even worse. This tells how unsafe it is when you actually try to hold a heavy, hot item right out of the oven. The idea is great, but this product is not a well-made one.

Declutter the kitchen with this multi-tool
I keep one by my microwave and one by my air fryer on the other side of the kitchen. I don't trust my grip to use these to carry hot items but I have used these things to pull out the rack, to hold the dish while I stir in the middle of cooking or to remove the plastic film from hot items. These work well for that. I tried to use the bottle opening feature but I seem to hold the container too tight

GREAT for HOT POTATOES
I've only had a chance to try using this on one bottle to open, and it worked well enough. I'm a senior and my hands just don't grip as well these days.What I do use it for pretty frequently, is to pull out the drawer on my oven and my air fryer - to take hot toasted bagels out of the air fryer and my favorite, TAKING HOT POTATOES OUT OF THE MICROWAVE, OVEN OR AIR FRYER. I used to use a hot pad but this works absolutely perfectly for a hot potato. The silicone on the inside gives a great grip.I'm not sure about how long the plastic will last if I try to open big jars, but I will give it a try next time I need a jar opened....but in the meantime, it is an amazing oven rack puller-outer and hot potato holder. Seriously.
