Perfect for ice cream hoover hounds
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! The way my Beloved Pointy Headed Spouse and I hoover down Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, it seems only appropriate that we should use utensils identified as ice cream shovels. Although these shovels are cute, they aren’t terribly thick, so don’t expect to be scooping frozen ice cream out of the carton with them. As the listing suggests, they are to be used for shoveling your ice cream from a bowl into your mouth only. The printing on each shovel is not quite as prominent as shown in the listing, but this isn’t a bad thing. I’m not sure that I want to be visually reminded with each bite that I am literally shoveling ice cream into my face. These shovels come in a reusable plastic box. I’m not sure why the box is necessary unless you’d want to set them apart from your regular spoons. Personally, I like the idea of using a shovel for eating cereal, oatmeal or any other food requiring a spoon (except soup. These shovels will not work well for eating soup.) In any event, at only $4.99 for two shovels, you really can’t go wrong with these miniature tools made for pigging out.

Great for your Ice Cream Lovers!
IN THE CONTAINER: 2 individually wrapped ice cream shovels in a plastic boxOkay, these are so cute and a great gift for the ice cream lover! They are made of stainless steel and one solid piece. One is a "pointed" head and the other is a squared head with an open triangle handle end. The shovel heads have etched into them a bowl of ice cream and the words "Ice Cream Shovel. The etchings are clear and sharp and everything is spelled correctly. They feel quite sturdy and smooth. The "pointed" head shovel is 6 3/16 inches long and 1 6/16 inches wide. The square head shovel is 6 1/16 inches long and 1 3/8 inches wide. For 4.99, I think the price is fair. I think these would make great stocking stuffers or for whatever occasion for the ice cream lovers in your life. Oh, Look! I had to test them out!!!

Fun ice cream shovel spoons, but they bend easily
These ice cream spoon “shovels” are a fun idea, and the engraving looks nicely done. They’re 304 stainless steel and the finish is decent overall. My main drawback is durability. They feel lighter than my everyday tableware spoons, and they’re surprisingly easy to bend, so I wouldn’t expect them to handle really hard ice cream straight from the freezer without some flex. That said, they’re still enjoyable to use and feel like a good value for the price, which is why I’m at 4 stars.

Amazing novelty and ice cream spoons!
These are adorable. I surprised my partner with them and we had a blast shoveling ice cream into our mouths. Totally worth the price just for that moment. The handles of the shovels are thin. Thinner than the blade of a butter knife. The also feel pretty flimsy, but they are made of metal and hold up to their designed task well (shoveling ice cream). The heads of each shovel are thicker and smoother, ensuring that each bite is a pleasant experience. Also, they can be reused, so you'll be able to enjoy them again and again. They come in their own little plastic container which makes transporting them easy. Though it's not the kind of container you're going to want to keep.Totally worth trying!

Funny and unique
These spoons are way more heavy duty than I expected. They are thin but they have a really good weight to them that actually help make it a little easier to hold. They came in a little plastic box so they can stay protected and stored away. The engraving is done really well and is easy to read on them and looks like it will be easy to read forever and not get worn down or fade away in any way. The different shapes are really accurate to real shovels and look really good. They also pick up ice cream so well and they help you really be able to dig in, pun intended. This is a cute little set to give as a gift or to have just to make ice cream eating a lot more fun and unique.

Cuteish novelty, but in no way practical
Okay, first off, these are a very inexpensive set ($4.99 at the time I ordered) of novelty spoons to make some kind of cute ice cream display. And at that price, it's difficult to have too much expectation of these... But that being said, I felt these were deeply disappointing, even in spite of the price. Let's cover the ways:1. These have very flimsy construction - the handles are roughly half as thick as just some standard small flatware spoons from my drawer. Unless your ice cream is melted to the point of being nearly a milkshake, you'll bend these with even the slightest amount of effort. For a set designed to appear like SHOVELS, this is comically insulting - "all show, no go" so to speak. I have a photo that includes a side profile that demonstrates these are about as thick as aluminum foil folded over on itself a couple times.2. These are much smaller than you'd expect. My silverware set has three sizes of spoons - serving spoons, which are the largest, then soup spoons, which are mid-sized, and then some small/general-purpose spoons that are mostly used by the kids. These are smaller both in the size of the handle and the spoon itself than the smallest spoons in our drawer. For a gimmick that is meant to make the joke "I'm gonna eat so much ice cream, I need a shovel" these are again comical in how poorly they get that joke across. I have these in a photo with a nickel for scale to show how diminutive these truly are.3. Workmanship. The edges of these are borderline sharp and slightly rough, which makes these uncomfortable to handle. These are clearly designed specifically and only to be on display and/or make a cute photo, not to actually be used in any capacity.3. The packaging. Set aside the above three factors and say you want to give these as a gift. First, don't: these are not going to make a nice gift because of points 1 and 2 above. But even if you did, these are packaged in a plain clear plastic clamshell case. It's not the appearance that makes for a nice gift, so you will have to repackage these somehow if you were to attempt making a good impression. The points above being said, there are a few positive factors: They *are* cute, and they *would* look good in photos. If you want to use these as a prop in some kind of studio setting, they'd probably be pretty cool, and they'd function well in that capacity. Also, the finish on the front and back sides (but not the edges) is pretty smooth and attractive. The etching is well-done and clear to read.
