Safe to use

Great for kids to use, I bought for grandson after he cut himself cutting lettuce.. I've had mine for many years, never gets dull

Not very sharp.

So I will say, I used this on a head of romaine lettuce, had to run out for a bit, left the lettuce on the counter, came back after 30-40 minutes and the lettuce wasn't browned. So for that aspect, it seems to do its job.I've had knives like this is the past and enjoyed their ease of slicing through lettuce and would also slice through softer veggies, but using these did not give me a good experience. Even trying to get it through lettuce, it was a struggle, it's like using a really, really dull knife. But again, if it truly is just meant to prevent browning, fine but I also would prefer that it was also a functional knife and a breeze to slice.They are both extremely lightweight and not very sharp. The quality of the plastic seems as it should be, but a little sharper would go a long way.

Durable, affordable and well-made lettuce knife set.

Both the knives worked wonderfully well on the Romaine lettuce leaves I cut. I found them to be adequately sharp and comfortable to hold.I have been wanting a plastic knife for cutting my lettuce for literally two decades at least. Especially for our taco bars and salad bar fixings. Not that the brown bothers me too much, because I know it's just a natural occurrence and doesn't represent spoilage, but for my guests, I would prefer to offer them sliced lettuce without brown marks covering it.For $5.99 for a large and small knife, perfect for cutting many forms of greens that brown, I found this to be a great bargain. I definitely recommend the set and am excited for our next salad or taco bar meal.I think it would make a great gift for the budding cook and a chef.
