Bigger than I expected, and plenty stiff for scraping chocolate out of the melanger bowl

I have been making do with soft, floppy, smallish silicone spatulas for scraping chocolate from my melanger bowls, and it was getting to be rather frustrating, trying to scrape the bottom of the bowl when the spatula tip bends and folds over. I hoped these would work better when I ordered them, and they most certainly do. The silicone rubber is soft and flexible on the edges, but there is a stiff core inside the spatula that is just perfect for holding its shape. I also appreciate the extra width of the scraper end. I can clean the melanger and recover much more of the chocolate now! I will very probably be ordering more of the same brand when these two spatulas finally wear out.

Good Large Spatulas with Long Handles

These appear to me to be made for professional kitchen or restaurant use due to the size of the spatula itself and the long handle. They are suitable of course for home kitchen use but these are the largest spatulas in my collection. They are good quality silicone with a long, longer than average handle. They certainly do the job and are a good for everyday use. This set contains two spatulas that are identical, same size, construction and degree of flexibility. It would be nice to have two different sizes, but saying that, these are good value and will do the job I want in my kitchen.

Good kitchen essential

Nice scrapers. Seamless silicone is great - no place for moisture or dirt to get trapped. These are quite large in size whichworks well for most tasks. Once I get a smaller size one, I'll be able to get rid of all my wooden handled ones.

Bigger than you think

I got these specifically because my previous set of spatulas were too small. These certainly are the opposite, they are strong and durable and work well for my purposes, but do be aware these are best for large cooks. Cooking a single meal they might be a bit too much, but making for a family these would work perfectly. I wish they were a bit smaller as they are a bit unweidly when cooking a dinner for two.

Look elsewhere

These spatulas come as a pair and are made of silicone. As someone who is on a quest to rid my kitchen of plastic, I thought these might be a good option. I was wrong. First, the spatulas are just flat rectangles - no contouring along the edge to help you scrape down a bowl of batter. The manufacturer seems to have designed this item to minimize the amount of silicone required. Even the handle is squared off and "thin" instead of rounded and substantial - not comfortable to hold for any length of time. Another detail I disliked was how the silicone head is molded around a metal insert, but the insert does not extend all the way to the edge of the spatula. I realize this is to give the edge of the spatula some flexibility, but I also think this is where the spatula will eventually tear or crack, and thereby fail. Are these shortcomings deal breakers? I suppose anything can be acceptable at the right price, but when you cook a lot you come to understand what makes for a great kitchen implement. In my opinion, this is not it. Look elsewhere.
