Don't underfill
Good price, though I discovered that I needed to fill the jar within a quarter to a half inch from the top to get it to seal. The ones I only filled to an inch or so didn't seal until I put them in a water bath for 10 minutes.

Good price, though I discovered that I needed to fill the jar within a quarter to a half inch from the top to get it to seal. The ones I only filled to an inch or so didn't seal until I put them in a water bath for 10 minutes.
I sought an alternative to the canning lids I usually buy and gave these a try. They arrived timely and appear to be the quantity advertised. Maybe a little lighter/thinner than other brands, but hard to tell for sure. A few had a small scratch on the enameled bottom (food side) of the lid, most were fine. Rubber seals looked fine on all I checked.I've canned two batches of jelly/jam (water bath method) for a total of 15 or so of these lids. 1 buckled slightly in the bath, but I may have had the ring too tight. Otherwise, they've all sealed and remained sealed for a week this far. They don't have as satisfying of a ping when sealing, but the middle does pop down so you should be able tell if they seal (or unseal).Smallish sample and not a lot of shelf time, but I thought my expirience could be helpful to others. If I have lots of failures or things otherwise go wrong, I will update.
As advertised
I was given this product for my review. It was nice to see such a large quantity of lids for the cost. Unfortunately the quality has much to be desired. Many of the lids had the very thin under side coating damaged. This keeps the product from rusting the lid. All the lids had very sharp edges and some (as seen in the photos were misshapen in the manufacturing process. I did a side by side comparison with Ball lids and I was pleased to say that all the lids I used sealed. I used them for apple sauce and for beef broth. You can see in the video they survive the pressure canning process well. My only concern is that in description it goes put of it's way to make it clear that the SEAL is BPA free but nothing about the coating on the lid that is exposed to the food. This seems deliberate and I will be pleased to know if the coating on the inside if the lid is also BPA free. All in all the lids do seal well (see video) and pass the tap test. If the lid lining is BPA free and you like expirementung with small batches of jams and lower time pressure canning gives these a try. I would definitely wait using on long term foods until the seller confirms that the lining and not just the seal are BPA free.
If i could give these 0 stars I would, 85% failure rate to form a seal, about 20% were so poorly made, gasket in the wrong place, missing, or double applied on parts causing gaps, that I could not even use them. Of the ones I could use, they failed to from a seal after a 45 minute in a pressure canner at 15psi.I was canning the same soup at once, every one of my last BALL lids work with out any issues, most of these failed. Not impressed and will not buy again will stick to my stand by BALL lids.
Good
Just what I needed
