Works like a charm! Great way to stock up on sale items. I also freeze full multi course leftovers for whenever I don't feel up to cooking. Now to get a chest freezer so we can really take advantage of great meat sales!
Ok, so this is my first vacuum sealer. With-in 5 mins I had read the instructions, pluged in the unit. I the grabed one of the smaller bag that came with the device and insertted som chicken. I then place the open end into the device as shown. Hit moist and the waited. I about 45- 115 mins later the chicken was vacuumed sealded and ready for the freezer. Very convenient, I wiped down the unit and put it back in the bos ready for next time. I would suggest this vacuume sealer to anyone, it works well!
I READ THE BOOK, prepped everything to seal, I SEAL EXACTLY 2 BAGS AND THEN THE VACUUM DIDN'T WORK, I waited, tried it again, it worked, went for the 4th bag, once again no vacuum. It's hard to press down the cover to make it snap. IN THE PROCESS OF SENDING IT BACK. Like I said, "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."spend the money and gt a better machine
This vacuum sealer works great for preserving foods, much better than a zipper bag. My son loves smoked salmon and storing in a vacuum sealed bag preserves the freshness and prevents oxidation. The vacuum works quickly and leaves no slack or gaps of air. The sealer bags are heavy duty so you don't have to worry about accidental tears or gashes which can happen with zipper bags in the freezer. Freezer burn is also much less likely with such a tight seal.
I used this to vacuum seal some meats I was planning to freeze. The sealing itself is quick, got all the air out of the bags, and is a secure enough seal that I couldn't tear it open by hand. The seal has held up for a few days in the freezer on one bag, and the bag I pulled back out to defrost maintained its seal as well until I cut it open. Only downside is that there is a little cardboard card you have to keep in the drip tray to keep the gaskets from getting flattened, so you cannot store it locked. I wish there was a built-in spacer mechanism for that, versus a piece of cardboard I almost threw away because I didn't realize it was critical. This is a good value-priced vacuum sealer regardless!
