My son has to carry a clear bottle to school with no insulation, so these are perfect to keep his water cold for most of the day. They are durable and this is my 2nd order of them. We just clean them with a little dish soap and put them in a plastic bag in the freezer.
When frozen, quickly cools off a warmed-up drink in a soft-drink bottle. I use Wyler, Sunkist, and Crush soft-drink mixes in Coke Diet and Caffeine Free bottles. (I like Coke Diet and Caffeine Free a lot, but it is a heavy item to receive.) These slip right through the bottle's neck and soon the drink is pleasantly cool again. Twelve items are probably more than I need, but a couple of them are always at hand when I want them.
I've used these for a while now, and I keep hoping they will do more than they actually do. Frankly, they take up so much room in my cup that I end up with not enough drink in the cup. Either that or, if I use fewer to take up less room, they don't have enough of a cooling effect. You would think that it wouldn't be any worse than adding ice, but apparently, the additional volume for the plastic around the individual tubes increases the total volume noticeably. I think these are mainly intended for people to put them inside their bottled water, but I don't drink that, so they aren't nearly as useful for me.I find the long, thin shape causes them to quickly melt, allowing a fast chill to the liquid, but seriously reducing their ability to maintain that chill once achieved.However, physical manufacturing quality is fine. They are durably made and seem like they will last a long time through many refreezes. I will probably end up using them as reuseable ice in my cooler that I don't have to worry about getting things in the cooler wet.
These sounded like a good idea. But when I got them, they had already started leaking inside the bag. And it wasn't just one, it was several. The listing says they are filled with purified water, but I still don't trust putting one in my drink. The contents of the ice cube stick would probably leak out slowly into it as it melted. I'm not going to even chance it.
The plastic stains fairly quickly. Especially if you use it for iced tea.
Great for lunches and water bottles!! Easy to use and clean!
Works great with most any bottle and keeps it cold for many hours!
