Great bottles for body washes, shampoos, and other pourable formulations.
I formulate cosmetics as a hobby and always have a need for packaging. I ordered these honey bottles because I’ve used them in the past and missed having them available. They’re especially useful for things like body washes and shampoos, and the wide opening alone makes them worth it. Filling these is easy, even with thicker liquids, and the flip-top caps make them convenient for using in the shower. They’re a practical bottle for light to moderately high-viscosity cosmetic formulations. These are standard clear plastic honey bottles with flip caps. They’re listed as holding 12.3 ounces of honey (about 350 grams) which is important to note because that capacity does not translate directly to other liquids. Honey is much denser than water-based products, so unless you’re actually filling these with honey, don’t expect them to hold a full 12 ounces of shampoo or body wash. For reference, I filled one with a body wash formulation and found it comfortably held about 250 grams. When I tried to pour in 310 grams, it overflowed and I had to use two additional one-ounce bottles for the excess. Experimentation may be necessary if you plan to use these for products other than honey. The plastic itself is somewhat rigid, but still squeezable, which it needs to be, since honey requires pressure to dispense. It works very well for body washes, shampoos, and certain gels. I wouldn’t recommend these for very thick conditioners, since those really need a softer, more flexible bottle to dispense easily. The flip cap is sturdy and well-made, and it is strong enough to endure daily shower use. The bottle opening is large too, so pouring products in is easy and a funnel really isn’t necessary.I used one of these bottles for a fairly thick body wash, and it dispensed smoothly with minimal effort. One detail I really like is the insert inside the dispensing opening. There is a small internal piece that helps control flow, so you don’t get too much product at once. It makes dispensing easier to control, which is nice because there is less chance of product wastage. The bottle itself is durable plastic, so if it gets dropped, there’s no concern about breakage.I think these bottles are great for formulators who want an affordable, good-quality option for storing and using their creations. They’re also obviously suitable for honey and other food products, and I’ve even used similar bottles in the past for bath powders because the controlled opening makes dispensing easy. Overall, these are simple, functional bottles that do exactly what they’re supposed to do, and I’m glad to have them back in my packaging rotation.
