Difficult to Open

The size that I ordered is perfect to cover my cloth placemats. It is translucent and shows the beauty of the placemats very clearly. The downside and why I rated the product a 4 is that each one comes tightly rolled up in a metalic foil. The ends are stuffed into the ends of the tube. The label that holds the tube together is very strong and is not peelable and is difficult to cut. I had to use scissors to get the ends of the foil out of the tube and then had to cut the foil and label in order to open the product. The product does not lie flat when opened and suggestions are included as to how to get the product to lie flat.

Quality Protection @ a Decent Price

This vinyl protector is perfect to protect my glass-topped desk. Because of my great experience the first time I bought this protector, I decided to buy another for my new desk. The initial protector has lasted 3 years, and counting, without yellowing or becoming brittle.Since my desk is rectangular with a concave front, the vinyl sheet must be cut to accommodate the shape. So, cutting the protector is mandatory for complete coverage. Luckily, the manufacturer has made it easy to customize with an Exacto knife or straight-edge razor. The thickness is substantial preventing damage to the underlying table or desk. The vinyl's thickness provides a comfy cushion while doubling as a great mouse pad! For the money, it's a bargain...I'd rather have to buy another protector than replace/repair my desk top. FYI, ink spots and permanent marker come up easily with a little rubbing alcohol. Just spray it on and wipe off. I used what I had on hand and it worked like a charm (91% rubbing alcohol).

Sizing was off.

The item arrived. It was packaged really well. It is a nice durable mat. What I received was smaller than what the description stated. I ordered a 24" x 24" mat. It is more like a 22" x 22" size. This mat was ordered to be placed on a 24" x 24" countertop and it doesn't come close to covering the top.I gave it 3 stars because (other than the size being incorrect) it is a nice quality item.
