This is mostly due to the joinery of the base board and the frame being a static fit, so no room for the board to contact as needed.I did follow the instructions provided to "reduce the risk of splitting" but ultimately dry winter air still won out.

Big and functional, will hold a lot!

This is big! I know it said 24”x24” but wow it seems way bigger & I had to measure it to be certain, but it’s exactly the size that was advertised so make sure it will fit your space! It’s actually too big for my ottoman but it works on a table. I posted a picture with a box of tissues on it so the size shows better! It’s very sturdy and looks quite nice, though I wouldn’t call it a luxury piece or anything, its functionality makes up for it. There’s a little bit of a not so great corner but it barely shows, so not that big of a deal. I did remove a star because of that plus it’s a bit of a rough finish but if you’re going to pay this price you should at least know it’s not perfect. Overall a very nice, substantial tray.
