I HATED trying to use these. I've used dowel rods and plates before but none of them were as difficult to use as these. For the price? No. The sturdiness is definitely a no, it started leaning so much we had to catch the cake and readjust, thankfully it wasn't iced at the time since we were experimenting so there was no mess when we took it apart. I honestly wouldn't waste my money on this and wish I hadn't bought it. The dowels go into the cake easily enough as long as your cake is moist but then something just goes wrong.
