If any mechanical insulator is looking for a sharp knife to cut pipe insulation with, this is the one! I've been on my trade for 20 years and could never find a nice skinny serrated knife for cutting small hole and what not. The dexter knife was the only one but they're too expensive now. This knife is a little flimsy but sharp as hell!
Sharp knife, perfect for tomatoes. The metal is not very thick, and the length makes it a little flimsy. But the serration is great and it does the job fine
I love this knife. Why? Well, it's very sharp. It's also serrated, so it's very well suited for cutting tomatoes. I cut the thinnest slice of tomato on a very mushy tomato (pictured). But wait, there's more. I also cut bread just fine as well (no tin cans were attempted).What's nice is that the size is small enough to use for vegetables but also prep cooking. It's not a super fancy knife, the base feels cheap, but the blade does seem high enough quality and it's functional. The thickness of the blade is extremely thin but not quite a paring knife, and not quite a filet knife.It's not a lot of money. I'd pick it up if you chop a lot of vegetables or if you want that special knife for your tomato-included sandwiches.
great for tomatoes- and all sorts of fruits and veggiesincredibly sharp tip - glad there are tip guards included. Store inside the sleeves and box, inside drawer for safe keeping. looks like a fish filet knife...the blade is long but not overly thick, sharp enough to cut through with 2-3 slides; the rubbery skin of tomatoes, apples, avacados, ginger roots, sweet potatoes, onion with skin, banana... those are all the produce skins i had on hand while experimenting.Good knife so far for its function!
These knives are super sharp and per the web site they do have a full tang. But with a plastic handle it's hard to know how the blade is fastened.The serrated blade quickly and easily cuts through tomato, fruit, bread, etc and without a mess. Often times when cutting a tomato you can easily lose all the juice and end up with a mushy pile but these knives cut through clean and without damaging the food.I hand wash knives so that should help with longevity but I will be interested to see how long these last. The durability may surprise me.At this price point you really can't go wrong. It's a fantastic price for a very useful knife.
These knives are very sharp and do an excellent job slicing tomatoes — that part is spot on. The serrations bite cleanly, and for cutting soft produce they work exactly as intended.The downside is build quality. The handles feel very cheap and plasticky, and one knife in the two-pack actually showed rust minutes after washing, which isn’t great. This is a nice, sharp knife!!! The serrated blades work great on tomatoes but will work equally well to slice open rolls, fruit, etc. I think that the blade length isn't long enough to slice through homemade breads. The handle fits nicely in the hand and the plastic is a non-slip plastic. There's a tip protector for both of the knives, which will keep the tips nice and sharp while being stored in a drawer. I prefer to wash my good knives by hand, so these won't go in my dishwasher, though it's nice to know that they are dishwasher safe should someone else inadvertently put them in the dishwasher.
