Cast Iron is the absolute best thing to bake in!
Such a great value and appear to be the only 12 cup cast iron that exists. They stack perfectly in each other too. Good shipping, no damage on arrival.I didn't want to get multiple 6 cups, so glad I found these. This is only a little more then the single 6 cup from lodge. These also have a similar casting texture and roughness to Modern Lodge.I want to address the misleading statement in the description "upgraded non-stick interior coating". Thankfully these are bare iron, just pre seasoned. No enamel, Teflon, ceramic, or non stick coating.Now if your new to cast iron I'll tell you how to get perfect non stick results when baking. Cast iron itself is not necessary non sick. It's all in the users technique. There is no reason to use cup liners.Fist, you want to preheat these with the oven.Then, remove and oil the pan.Next, pour your batter in the hot pan.Then, bake in oven like usual.When ready, remove and let them cool slightly before you even think about touching them.Now you should be able to flip upside down and they'll fall right out leaving nothing behind. A pretty much perfectly clean pan after that.If you run into sticking it could have to do with the oil applied, the preheat time, or the seasoning. This will take some experimenting. Btw the easiest way to remove stuck on crud during this period; is filling all the cups with water and heating in the oven.Before first use I would definitely wash these with dish soap. It's a common myth that soap removes seasoning. If you've ever used a lye bath to strip crusty pans, you would know what a true bare metal pan looks like.EDIT: Baked my first batch. I did this as a test with only the factory seasoning. As you can see, there was a bit of sticking. I only had 2 cups really come out spotless. This could also have to do with my preheat time. After adding the batter I noticed my pans where down to like 150°F going in the oven. They might have only been 200°F once my oven hit 400°f. I could probably preheat longer. I'm also going to add at least 2 more rounds of seasoning to these. There's lots of different opinions but I prefer crisco at 450°F for one hour.Ironically, I also thought these pans might work out perfect for oven bacon. Laid across the top, the grease will drip into the cups perfectly. Also helping to season the pan.

Fantastic set of cast iron muffin pans with handles!
These are the real deal! They’re excellent so far, they come pre seasoned so all I did was wash, dry, and lightly oil them. I can attest they are not nonstick. Maybe Pam, maybe an old fashioned butter rub would do it, I don’t know but of course cast iron isn’t known for being non stick. I made cupcakes and though they came out in pieces, they baked evenly so, that’s great. It did take a bit longer than with a typical cupcake pan and they were a bit little dry so maybe lower the temp when baking in this. It’s heavy. I knew it would be but it’s not the pan you pull out of the oven with one hand for sure. I love it! It comes with a care sheet which is cool because before my husband told me, I had no idea cast iron pots had so many rules and this one is no exception so I’m sure with proper care and treatment this thing will be baking many years from now. I got the 2 muffin pans so when we do multiple flavors we can bake both at the same time. I’m pretty excited to try cornbread in it!

They are solid cast iron, with flat bottoms. They are smooth inside with no pits or rough areas. I appreciate the two extra large, easy hold handles because like all cast iron, these muffins pans are heavy! Weighing in at nearly 8 pounds each, the handles provide a large enough grip surface to get them in and out of oven with ease.Exceptional heat distribution as well as heat retention.The pans are pre-seasoned. These are some hefty cast iron pans. It’s nice that they come pre-seasoned, so I can get straight to baking.They have the optimal amount of space between the wells in both the cupcake pan and the rectangular pan. Your baked goods shouldn’t stick together when they’re done.With regular cupcake pans, it’s really hard to get the pans out of the oven without squishing a cupcake or two while wearing oven mitts. And it’s not like not wearing mitts or using towels is an option, so these generous handles on the side are awesome. They should work great with just about any mitts. With the weight of cast iron, it would’ve been a huge mistake not to have these handles.Good value. You really won’t get cast iron pans like this for cheaper unless you get really lucky at a thrift.Whoever designed this actually bakes.
