Perfectly sized fries

A new gadget in the kitchen is always nice, and we were super excited to try out this Heavy Duty Potato Cutter because I do most of the cooking and my hands can't handle cutting potatoes or hard veg anymore. It comes with two different sized blade cartridges and two pushing attachments to match the different blades. The assembly is easy, two screws and it comes with the tools to tighten them. The blades lock in with two locking screws on the side and the pushing plates snap on. Simple enough.It takes a lot of force to push the potatoes through. My biggest concern is that smaller or weaker individuals may have to push the lever down from a bad angle and end up getting hurt.There are no cleaning instructions other than not to put plastic parts in the dishwasher. The whole thing has plastic parts, so I am assuming that means don't put any of it in. Even the blades have a plastic frame inside of the metal one, and that also has gaps allowing water or debris to get inside where you can't get it back out easily. So hand washing with dish spray seems easier if not safe.The suction cups hold on well to my counter, and it does take a little bit of prying to get them to separate. I consider that a good thing, because you don't want this to go flying off the counter. It is mighty heavy.I wouldn't recommend for someone like me that needs assistance cutting, entirely because it takes too much arm strength to push the potato through, but for other it is a real time saver!

Hardy, works perfectly, easy clean up.

This is a great device. It is extremely well built and hardy.What I used was sweet potatoes to test it. As you see in the photos. I tried first with raw ones, you are not recommended to try that, bad idea raw. They are much harder than russet potatoes. But I did it to test how well the sucker's work. I was able to do it with great difficulty and never lost contention with my counter. That is impressive attachment power. It released from the counter and reattached with a breeze.I cooked the rest of them and did it the correct way. I have texted both cut screens. Very sharp and work fantastically well. Very easy product to use and clean.I have nothing negative to say about it. Highly recommend for it use case.

This was a hard no for me.

I tried using this while prepping potatoes for dinner, thinking it would save time during a busy evening, and instead it created a bigger problem. The blades didn’t line up properly, and plastic shavings actually came off into the potatoes. That alone made it completely unusable for me.Beyond that, it wasn’t easy to use. It took way more force than expected, didn’t cut evenly, and felt awkward the entire time. Cleaning it was also frustrating, food got stuck in places that were difficult to reach, and it doesn’t store well either because of the bulky shape.I wanted something that would simplify meal prep. This did the opposite and raised safety concerns I’m not comfortable with in a family kitchen.One star. I wouldn’t use this again or recommend it

no need for arm day

Potaotes are definitely no match for this french fry cutter. Potatoes were on sale last week so i bought a bunch to make frozen french fries to make weeknight meals quicker and let me tell you this mahcine made it easier but I should have skipped the gym before hand. It takes quite a bit of force to get the potatoes through especially with the smaller size cutter. Out of the box it does require some assembly and it does not inlcude dirrections so you are on your own with that. It took me less than 5 minutes to get it figured out and done. We cut 25 pounds of potatoes in each size and had no issues with the blades getting dull or the mahcine breaking. We did discover the suction cups stick better to our glass stove top than our wooden kitchen table and you definitely need them to have solid suction to get a good cut on the potaotes. Clean up was easy and its pretty small so didnt take a whole lot of room for storage.
