It's cute and works. Hard to figure out how to put it together
Garbage quality, “leather” is not leather ; it’s plastic and looks like it was sewn by a five year old. I would have paid 5 times as much for an actual quality piece. This is not it. You can’t even clip the straps on the second apron because it’s not sewn correctly and there is too much fabric to fit the clip on. Hard pass.
This was a gift for a favorite 9-year-old boy who has been enjoying learning how to cook for a while. It's sturdy denim, and I was very happy with my purchase and the price. I personalized his "chef apron" with nice iron-on embroidered letters, and it was well received by him and impressed the party guests. No, the "leather" is not real and priced accordingly, but the quality and color look good, and class up the look with the straps' metal clips, that you sometimes see in nice restaurants, and even behind the bar in one of my favorites. Yes, my husband was a little confused about helping with the straps configuration, but in short-time, I re-clipped them, and it was perfect and will grow with him for a while. I think a super simple illustration in the packaging for the clips and where to crisscross and tie would gain more review stars.
Good quality canvas but maybe a little more than we need. Also, a better design on the straps would be beneficial. The straps are WAY too long for my 2 and 4 year olds. The clips for the straps don't quite fit into the loops by the shoulders- I really had to force them on and then struggle to get the clips to latch/ close once on the metal loop. Then, I assume the other metal loops are for the bottom part of the very long strap... so I crossed the straps in the back, put the ends of the straps through the second metal loop and the only way I can see to get these on the kids is to have them step into the straps, pull onto shoulders and then tie. That's cumbersome for littles. Not going to work. The material is good quality but probably too thick to be useful, if I'm being honest. I can't imagine any circumstance in which my small children would need a heavy duty apron like this. It's marine grade canvas material that you'd see a professional craftsman wear at a job site. In the crafting world, we're talking about fantastic protection from sharp objects and hot glue....but I don't let my kids use those. These are so thick that they're difficult for the kids to move around in, they are bulky when the kids try to sit and work on a project and they ask to take them off. We're better sticking to an old t-shirt.In all, not functional for what we do; finger painting, play doh, washable paint wood projects etc. Good for someone who has kids working in a garage with tools or hot glue, I guess (but I wouldn't recommend letting kids use a hot glue gun until they're much older).
The aprons are really nice, the canvas is a good quality, and they will fit our children for a good amount of time. The only thing I couldn’t quite figure out was how to properly attach the straps. I ended up attaching them to the rings at the top, looping them through the rings on the bottom and tying it in the back. However, there is these faux leather loops at the very end of the straps that I think are supposed to be used somehow. Anyway, it wasn’t a super big deal as I was able to get them on my children comfortably this way.
