Great little kitchen gadget with one major flaw.
These little mandolin/graters are small and cute. They aren't very thick so I'm not sure how long they'll last. I think that has more to do with size than bad quality. I really like that there is a safety measure with the handle. That's also where the garlic goes to slice. I didn't have a clove of garlic so I used a piece of baby potato just to test it. It worked really well and slides easily. The slices are very thin and the grater basically minces it for you. The major negative for me is that the top doesn't attach to the bottom. The plate just sits on the base so when you use it, you have to hold it just right so the top doesn't slide around which in turn can be dangerous. I will say that obviously garlic is softer than a potato so I'm hoping it's a bit easier to use. It washed well in the dishwasher.
