Work very well

The silicone sling that was bundled with my bannetons is quite thin, so I wanted to try a thicker one. The ones in this set are much thicker, and more like the silpat liners I have for my baking sheets. Still flexible, but sturdier, my photo shows them next to each other for comparison. I had been using a double layer of parchment paper or a thin layer of rice along with the thin silicone to prevent the bottoms of my bread from getting too dark, so I wanted to see what would happen with one of these slings. The result is shown in my photo using just the sling, no parchment or rice. I wouldn't want it and darker, and I probably will continue to use parchment in the future. Moving the scored dough from the counter to my dutch oven was a little easier with this sling. The old, thinner one always felt like it wanted to twist if the dough wasn't perfectly centered. Overall, I'm very happy with the quality of these.

So useful!

These slings are perfect for sourdough baking! It is so much easier to transport your bread dough from a banneton, to a hot Dutch oven when using one of these slings. I have a cast iron trivet in the bottom of my Dutch oven (prevents the bottom of my bread from getting too dark) and this silicone sling ensures that the bottom of my bread is nice and flat (the dough doesn’t conform to the pattern of the trivet). The silicone is on the thin side, but I prefer that because the handles don’t create much of a gap between the pot and the lid of my Dutch oven (I want to trap the moisture in during the first half hour of baking). The silicone retains quite a bit of heat, so you’ll need to use oven mitts when lifting your bread out of the Dutch oven after baking. All in all, I’m very happy with these PAWxCLAW bread slings!

Thin silicone baking sheets

These are just ok for what they are. I like the shape of them and they can be used for more than bread. You can place them inside any standard square or round pan if you want to lift something out easily after baking/cooking. My main complaint is they are not as thick or as smooth as I expected them to be compared to other silicone baking products I have owned. I have owned a few silicone sheets for my baking trays, cupcakes/muffins, and air fryer, and these are just on the cheaper side comparatively. They still work, but they seem like they would not last as long. I'm not a bread expert so perhaps these are designed specifically for bread and need to be thinner, but the material for me leaves something to be desired.

Perfect baking accessory

These are a great accessory for the bread baker in your life. Save on parchment paper and ensure a nice smooth bottom crust on your loaves. We had previously used parchment, which doesn't lie flat in the bottom of the Dutch oven and can crease or dent the bottom and sides of the loaf. These slings are thick and sturdy, allowing easy lifting in and out of the Dutch oven. The silicone does retain heat, so use mitts when lifting out the baked loaf!
