This is the best tea infuser! Small mesh makes sure you don't get any bits in the tea. Easy to use and simple design.
These BOMANSI BOMS Stainless Steel 2Pack Long-Handled Tea Strainers are a wonderful tool for the tea drinker who loves loose leaf teas!I have several of this kind of tea strainer but this kind with the fold up/down arms? These are my absolute favorite!!I always try my rooibos to see how well a strainer handles the finer teas and this set was quite excellent! Don’t expect it to not let powders through (like the cheaper chai’s and probably some gunpowder green teas) but everything else will do well with these strainers.I even enjoyed cleaning these as, at an angle they whistle (how fun) and there were absolutely no sharp bits (trust me not all filters are created equal) but I suggest you go carefully just in case. Mine had zero sharp edges.I shared a pic of how very little of my flavored rooibos slipped through nothing noticeable whilst sipping. The little lids can be helpful if you sit down while you steep, they will catch drips when you remove. The lids fit perfectly on top. These are great if you enjoying gifting something you love to a bestie and it’s wonderful to have a back up. They are definitely fairly priced (cute @$12.99).The thing I love about these is you can set them over pretty much the widest mugs and they fold up to fit well in a cupboard. These work well and are a good value, I’d definitely purchase again if I were looking for a gift for a tea loving friend or family member!I hope my review helps you pick the right tea strainer for your needs!
Overall ImpressionThis is my first time using this specific type of tea infuser, and I am very impressed with the quality. It feels much safer and more durable than using plastic alternatives or single-use tea bags.Design and FitThe dual handles are a great feature because they allow the infuser to sit securely on the rim of various mugs and teapots without slipping. It is a very stable design that makes it easy to lift out when the tea is ready.Mesh QualityThe holes in the stainless steel are exceptionally small and fine. This is excellent for preventing tea particles and sediment from seeping into the beverage, which is often a problem with cheaper strainers. It results in a very clear and smooth cup of tea.The Lid FunctionalityWhile I was initially surprised that the lid just rests on top instead of snapping shut, I have learned that this is typical for this design. It works perfectly as a heat-retaining cover during the steeping process and then doubles as a very convenient drip tray to keep my counter clean afterward.Material and CleaningThe three hundred and four stainless steel is high quality and does not leave any metallic taste. It is also very easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher, and I haven't noticed any residue being left behind in the fine mesh.Final VerdictFor about thirteen dollars for a two-pack, this is a fantastic value. It is a sturdy, well-made tool that is perfect for anyone who enjoys loose-leaf tea or even for infusing smaller batches of herbs and powders.
We drink a LOT of tea in our home. Many different teas. I had previously used disposable tea sacks for my loose tea, or smaller infusers, but much prefer these metal strainers as they are much easier to fill, won't tear leaving sediment in your tea, and should last forever and not need to be replaced. The design of these tea strainers works well for single cups, as well as a tea pot up to about a 1 quart pot. The mesh has very fine holes, and any good quality tea shouldn't be able to filter through the strainer. I have a yerba mate tea that is a problem, as the tea has lots of tea dust that plugs the tiny mesh holes. This is not a fault of the strainer, but the fault of the tea. Good quality tea should not have fine dust. I think I should sift the dust out of the yerba mate before steeping.I like that these tea strainers come with their own coasters that can also double as a lid.I find these to be of good value, as they are well made of stainless steel that is very durable and can be cleaned in a dish washer. These should last a lifetime. I will not be buying any more tea sacks in the future!I highly recommend these tea strainers.
I’ve gone through plenty of tea infusers... the little balls that leak leaves, the silicone ones that are hard to clean... but this BOMANSI BOMS set is easily the best I’ve used. Here is why I’m giving it a full 5 stars:Extra-Fine Mesh: I’ve used this for both large leaf oolongs and very fine rooibos. The mesh is so tight that I get zero "tea dust" at the bottom of my cup. It’s a perfectly clear brew every time.Genius Foldable Handles: The long, foldable wings are a game-changer. They stay cool to the touch and extend far enough to sit securely across my widest soup mugs, but fold down flat for easy storage in the drawer.Multi-Purpose Lid: The lid is brilliant. I use it to keep the heat in while the tea steeps, and then it flips over to become a little drip tray so I don’t make a mess on my desk when I pull the basket out.Build Quality: It’s solid stainless steel. It feels sturdy, hasn’t rusted after several runs through the dishwasher, and doesn’t hold onto old tea flavors.Getting a 2-pack at this price is an incredible value. If you're serious about loose leaf tea, stop messing with the cheap infusers and just get these.Bottom Line: Sturdy, easy to use and clean, works perfectly, and fits everything. Highly recommended!
