I was so happy to have ordered this. I have done my japanese breads and the dumplings on this and its awesome. Its very clean in style and simple but very effective I use it with one ot two bins.I am very glad I bought it.
Looks nice; sturdy
It works well for steaming food and looks exactly like the picture. The only issue is the finishing since it’s made of bamboo, there are a lot of tiny splinters that stick out. These can end up in your food, which can be dangerous. I recommend placing parchment paper over the steamer before using it. Also, be careful when cleaning it and, if possible, wear gloves because the bamboo splinters can easily get into your hands.
This is my third bamboo steamer so I am something of an expert now. My first two lasted about 2-3 each years before simply coming apart. I cannot vouch for how long this one will last but that time range is my expectation.I think they are best used inside a wok that sits on a support over a gas burner. I don't have that setup with my induction cooktop so I set just one inside a large shallow pan and use the pan's own glass top. I previously had a perfect-sized stock pot that the steamer would just fit over and I could use both baskets and the bamboo lid. Sometimes condensation would drip onto the stove but it was ok. However you use it, the veg come out great and is a far better setup than the little folding metal things.
I love these steamers, I steam at least 2 a week, for my baby. It gets the job done. The price is reasonable as it seems sturdy.
Cheaply made
These baskets are well made, and worked perfectly. I bought parchment paper packs to go with these and they fit in perfect inside making them super easy to keep clean. No need to go out to Dim Sum I can make it at home now!! I would recommend these baskets.
