Design flaws, don’t recommend
I wanted to live this because it is stainless steel and I have always wanted a batter dispenser. However, I cannot recommend this product because it is unsafe. While cleaning, the metal on the handle made a deep cut in my finger. The edges on the inside on the handle are not rolled and therefore are very sharp metal. So it is unsafe to hand wash this product.Additionally, it did not drop my pancake batter at all. You must use very thin batter for it to flow through the opening. So it is not easy to use and does not function well.Due to these significant design flaws, the pancake batter dispenser is a poor value.

Works well.It dispenses the batter evenly and keeps the mess down by quite a lot.I love the stainless steel look as it matches all of our other tools and appliances so it fits right in.The amount it holds is perfect and makes it super easy to get out quite a few pancakes quickly.My one and only issue is the amount of force needed to squeeze it. Even my 8 year old son was surprised at how hard he had to squeeze it. If the manufacturer would fix that it would be a 5 star product.

Good for plain batters that are medium to thick consitency
Do not use with thin, runny, liquid batters. If your batter is too watery, it will leak through this. The seal is meant for thicker batters. When you let go of the handle, it automatically closes. Spring loaded. I tried it with the martha's muffin mix stuff and it did not like the fruit pieces in the mix and kept clogging up. Then it would drip everywhere making a mess. The opening is big enough for small and regular chocolate chips, but not for bigger items. The stainless steel is nice and easy to clean and has a view window to see where your batter level is at. Recommend having a paper plate or dish under it to help keep things from being super messy. I messed up and used a paper towel.The toughness of the spring feels like the old flour shifters that you had a pull handle on. Great help for making cupcakes, pancakes, and anything else with a thin batter. The dispenser seems well made overall, with decent stainless steel, a handle mechanism that is easy to use, and a silicone cover on the batter opening that operates smoothly and prevents most leaks. As a test, I tried using this dispenser with water rather than batter and confirmed that the silicone piece that slides to open and close the batter dispenser hole seals good. However, when batter pours out, the design allows a small amount of water/batter to leak into a trough in the metal piece that attaches from the bottom of the dispenser to the handle, leading to potential drips. Overall, this is a minor issue since a few drops of batter is not a big deal.
