Great stainless steel insulated tumbler with snug, secure, screw-in lid
This item checks all of my personal criteria for an ideal tumbler:26oz - 32ozScrew in lid (not snap in)Basic Stainless Steel exterior (no colors, no logos, no designs)No handleSliding drink hole coverDouble wall insulated for keeping drinks cold all dayApproximately 8" high to perfectly accommodate 10.5" strawsBottom diameter that fits my car cup holdersFor starters, as a man nothing is more gender neutral and industrial than stainless steel design. I want my cup to be functional not decorative. It does not need to match my shoes or my fingernail polish. So for me, Stainless Steel is a perfect color choice. Not everyone wants decorative, personalized color choices but the choices of colors are there for others that want them. It is just nice to have an option that works for me. Bare stainless looks very normal and ordinary at my workplace. The tumbler does not draw attention to itself, which I like. The fact that the lid screws in instead of snaps in is a positive. I don't know how many other cups of this type I have dropped and the "snug" fitting lid pops off and the beverage spills everywhere. This has happened in work settings and public places at inopportune times, leaving a huge puddle of beverage on the floor and making me look like I am a walking disastrous mess. Trust me, a screw in lid is a feature not a hindrance. If you are too lazy to unscrew a lid, maybe this type of tumbler is not for you.I also love the fact that there is no handle on this tumbler. Those are bulky and unnecessary. They make storage in a cabinet full of other cups and glasses difficult. It also is clunky and hinders placement in auto cupholders -- the handle gets in the way. Large handles also create a point of accidental contact from moving objects such as people and pets. The handle can get slapped or flipped by accident in passing in a busy work area, causing the tumbler to fall. There is a quality to the stainless steel and construction of the tumbler. I don't know if it keeps drinks as cold as some more expensive cups, especially when left for some time in a hot car. Time will tell. There is still ice in the beverage after 8 - 12 hours at room temperature. The quality is better than I expected for the price it is a great value. For the last 10 years, I usually ordered another more expensive brand. I really liked that their cups had a screw in lid after the disasters I encountered with snap in lids. This cup is slightly less durable than that one - the cup and lid both, but considering my other brand is 3 times the price of this one, I am happy with this purchase. The lid is a thinner plastic than I am used to but provides the same functionality. A 10.5" 6mm stainless steel straw with a silicone tip fits great inside the drink opening. I have not tried it but I think any straw up to 8mm in diameter (the most common) would fit. It can also be used by sipping directly from the tumbler (without a straw) if desired.I have zero complaints so far. I would recommend this tumbler to others. This would be a great gift for friend, family and co-workers.
