Game changer for shredding chicken.
I got this because I have a recipe that calls for shredded chicken and I used to do it by hand by pulling it apart with two forks. This took forever and was not fun. I have also tried using a food processor, but this ends up chopping the chicken too finely and making almost a mush out of it instead of nice strips.This shredder tool is AWESOME! I was able to shred 6 chicken breasts in under 2 minutes. It has rubber strips on the bottom so it gripped my counter nicely and did not move as I was using it. Even though everything on this tool is made out of plastic, it was able to shred the chicken with minimal effort on my part. Make sure to place the pieces of chicken around the sides and not directly into the middle as there aren't any spike pieces in the middle (this is the pivot point for it to swivel on while using it.) It is easy to take apart to wash it after use. I highly recommend this shredder tool. I wish I had found it years ago!

Important to have if you have arthritis and ever shred chicken.
For someone with arthritis that has always shredded chicken and roasts by hand, this thing is a life saver. I can shred an amount of chicken in under 2 minutes what used to take over 20 minutes at least. It only takes as long as 2 minutes because I have to empty and refill this thing several times because I tend to cook a lot at once. It's really fast, and cleanup is a snap if you have a good dish brush, or you can just put it in the dishwasher. It cleans so easy so far, I haven't bothered to use the dishwasher yet.The tray that sits inside makes it easy to remove the chicken and transfer it to a plate or container.I had gotten to where I was using my food processor for the chicken because my hands couldn't do the job any longer, but it always over did it. It chopped and made it too fine. I like it pulled apart the way this does it, and the food processor was too difficult to clean.This is definitely one of my favorite kitchen toys now.

Great Little Kitchen Gadget!
I decided to get this at my husband's request because he saw it on a cooking video and thought it was neat. In the past, I've always shredded my chicken the old fashioned way, with two forks, like a caveman (ha ha!). This new little gadget made shredding chicken so easy. The bottom has rubber on it so when you're pushing down, it won't slip around. And my favorite part is the removable plate, so you can through your shredded chicken back into your dish without having to pick it out between the spikes, like some of the other shredders I've seen. I haven't tried it with other meats yet, but I'm betting it would be great for pulled pork and shredded beef too. I'm glad my husband mentioned this to me because I think it's a great little gadget to have in the kitchen! 5 stars!
