This one actually locks on the pot better than the one that is almost double the price on Amazon. I’m happy with both of them (I ordered the more expensive one first & have two instant pots) but since this lid grips better and is way more affordable, I recommend this one.
We have used our Duo60 six-quart Instant Pot at least once every week or two since we first bought it in 2017. For some reason, it never occurred to my wife or I to look for a cover for the inner pot during the past eight years. We have always washed the inner pot and put leftovers in another container after cooking dinner in the Instant Pot. That's why I jumped at the opportunity to review this silicone lid from Karuzka. I had visions of covering the pot after dinner and putting that directly in the fridge instead of transferring the leftovers immediately.The lid is made from silicone, and it is heavier and thicker than I had expected after reading the information page on Amazon. I appreciate receiving something that exceeds my expectations - it is much more common nowadays to receive products that don't measure up to the hype. The fit is perfect and the lid seals tightly on our Duo60 pot. It is so much easier and quicker to pop the lid on the inner pot than to transfer the contents and wash the pot right after dinner. We are both really happy that we ordered this lid. It is much higher quality than we expected and feel it's a good value for a product that saves you time and trouble.
If you need a lid to store food in the inner pot of your Instant Pot, this lid works great. I have the 6-quart Instant Pot, and when I first put the lid on, it seemed a little big in diameter. It fit perfectly, though, fully sealing around the edges of the pot lip, and when I lifted the (empty) pot by the edges of the lid, the lid stayed secure. Then I tested for liquids by filling the inner pot about one-third full of water, secured the lid, then angled the lid down over the sink and turned the pot all the way around. No water leaked—at all. One thing to keep in mind is to not store acidic foods, such as dishes including tomato, because the acid will eat away at the metal. I love that the silicone is food grade and BPA-free, and especially that it is dishwasher safe. I washed the lid and it came out perfectly. The lid is thick silicone, it holds liquids, and will protect food in the inner pot if you need to store food in the pot.
I’m really pleased with this silicone lid. The thickness is actually very good, it doesn’t feel thin, weak, or brittle at all. When I bend it, it’s flexible, but it still has structure and doesn’t feel loose or flimsy. It holds its shape nicely.The rim is well-designed and slightly thicker, which helps it sit securely on the inner pot. It fits my Instant Pot 6 Qt properly and creates a snug cover without being difficult to put on or remove. It’s soft enough to press down easily, but firm enough to stay in place.The silicone feels smooth. It doesn’t have a strong chemical smell. The surface is easy to rinse clean, and water beads up nicely, which usually indicates decent silicone density and finish.I think this is a very practical upgrade compared to using plastic wrap or transferring food to another container. It’s reusable, simple, and feels durable enough for regular use.Overall, the material quality is better than I expected, thick, flexible, and not fragile. Definitely a useful kitchen addition.
I finally bought this because I was tired of wrestling with plastic wrap every time I wanted to put my Instant Pot leftovers in the fridge. I usually just end up dirtying another Tupperware container, which is just more work. This silicone lid is a much better solution. It fits my 6-quart pot perfectly and creates a tight seal that stays put.I was pleasantly indifferent when I ordered it, thinking it might be flimsy, but it is actually thick and holds its shape well. It is easy to clean by hand, though I usually just toss it in the dishwasher and it comes out fine. Storing it is simple too because it is flat and doesn't take up much room in the drawer. Using this thing is way faster than messing with the actual heavy pressure lid when you just need to keep the dust out or keep food cold. One small annoyance is that it tends to pick up a bit of a food smell if you use it for spicy chili, but a quick soak usually handles that. It does the job without any fuss, which is all I really wanted. It is a practical addition if you use your cooker for meal prep.
The Instant Pot is the lifeblood of my household so whether it is the 2 gallons of yogurt I make weekly, the days when I make stews or chili or braise some meat or chicken for salads, or any of the other countless uses, I depend on having the current inner pot full and a second one ready-to-go. To do this, I need a good lid that will keep things pretty air-tight in the refrigerator. I purchased one quite a few years ago, and though it still functions okay, the seal is not very tight and the silicone has undergone some yellowing (perhaps stretching as well?). At any rate, I thought this might be a good time for a replacement.This lid properly fits the six- and five-quart Instant Pot quite well and it seems to be the same durable silicone material. I think it is a bit tighter seal than my current one, so that is a positive and the price listed is quite reasonable. While I'm not going to throw out my old one, having two seems like a good option, given I have two inner Instant Pots. I'll see how it holds up, but a positive first impression. Recommend.
