Made my candles look great
Inspired by a fun day with friends at a candle-making shop, I wanted to try making some at home. I love the warm, homey look of candles in wooden bowls, so I made my first attempt with this set of bowls with wicks. I like the bowls. They are lightweight, but thick and substantial. They are not completely smooth, which I suppose is what the description means when it calls the bowls rustic. They have rough areas, as shown in one of my pictures. However, the wood feels soft and I handled the bowls a lot while I was working on the candles without getting scratched or anything adverse. For other beginners, I can say the candle creation process was fairly simple but it took me a while, especially figuring out how much wax to melt to fill the bowls. I bought five pounds of wax and two ounces of essential oils, and I have extra of everything left over after filling all four bowls in this set. Having the wicks right in the package was a help, so I didn't have to figure what type to get. My pouring could have been better, but the bowls still make my candles look special.

Much bigger than I thought, very light
These bowls were a lot bigger than I thought, the wood being unfinished made the appearance not as appealing to me. But still somewhat decent quality. Very light wood. They make for good catch all bowls for the dresser. Excited to try and use them for a candle soon!

Dark wood, candle dough bowls
Set of 4 Candle Dough Bowls. These are dark, light wood made from Paulownia wood. This wood is a hard wood, but surpasses balsa wood in strength. These bowls are a country look and come with 100 wicks for candle making. These make great bowls to add your candle wax’s and wicks, allowing you to make a 2-4 wick candle and adding your own scents. These bowls could be used for many items sitting around adding a dark country wood look adding some control to minor clutter. Car keys thrown in by the front door, assorted change or empty your pockets until morning, fruit sitting on the counter, wrapped candy, anything you could think of to be held inside these long bowls.Bowls are very light in weight, sanded around the top edge, but rough wood on inside of bowl and sides. Depth is appropriate 1.6in and photos with a dollar bill is for size comparison.Great value, for not only re-usable candle holders or decorative bowls to sit around for a country look.

Nice thick walled bowls, rough interior
These are lightweight, dark attractive wood. Can be used for almost anything to organize if you don't want to make candles in them. They are very rough, not sanded smooth on the interior. I presume that helps with the wax melt adhering to the surface so it doesn't pop out. Thick enough they won't crack or break and the medium size is good for any space. I am not using them for candles, but for jewelry or other small items. Good value for the 4 pack. Keep some and gift some!

small dough bowls
These wooden dough bowls are perfect for rustic decor as well as making the expected dough bowl candles. When making a candle with it I went with a three wick set up and it gives me about 30 hours of burn time with the beeswax candle wax. The bowls are reusualble and very sturdy and durable. The small szie is also perfefct for using as hair tie and jelwery storage in my bathroom and with such a great price for a 4 pack I found many places in my house to use them.

Nice bowls for rustic candles, but also small party foods like pretzels or small crackers!
Got these and thought they would be great for candles among guest tables but they are so cute I am going to keep them for little food servers instead. I may use them for candles later, but the wood is excellent and I like the look with my rustic place settings. The oval shapes are nice and they are just the right size for smaller snacks, pretzels, bigger nuts, or small crackers. So theres my take on what I think these are good for, but candles too. I would recommend these if you need some smaller, natural bowls for a party. They are just pretty and made well and real wood. A+
