A highly caffeinated girl's new bff! ~*sips on iced coffee in my UGG boots and yoga pants*~
These tumblers hit the mark!Everything you could possibly need is included in the set (cleaning tool, lids, & straws). I was worried that the tumblers might be too fragile for practical use, but these are surprisingly thick & robust. As hoped, every component is resistant to temperature changes & dishwasher-safe, and I didn't just take their word for it either. Every single piece, from the straws to the lids & cleaning tool, survived at least one cycle of a heavy high-temp wash & sterilizing dry in my dishwasher. It's safe to say that their claims are accurate here.I'm sure lots of people would find these tumblers useful, but they're particularly well-suited for the typical coffee lover like myself... I enjoy the convenience & flavor of made-to-order coffee/espresso drinks but not their cumulative cost. By investing in some fancier glassware/tumblers & a higher quality coffee/espresso machine for my home, I've definitely saved money in the long-term... As silly as it is, I'm far less likely to spend money at a cafe/restaurant when I can prepare a variety of upscale coffee/espresso beverages and conveniently sip on them at a fraction of the cost, all within the comfort of my own home. For some reason, these tumblers seem to noticeably elevate that experience, alleviating my temptation for spontaneous beverage purchases. On a completely different note, coffee is less likely to stain teeth when sipped through a straw, so that's another nice bonus of this product!Several design features make these tumblers ideal for nearly any occasion, whether at your desk, running errands in the car, lounging around the house, or carrying it with you on your morning commute. While the tumbler itself is a little on the heavier side, this is expected given its thickness. I don't know about you all, but I'd much rather deal with a few extra ounces of weight than something that's too fragile to leave the house with... You're not gonna hear me complaining, that's for sure.Another detail that I really appreciate about these tumblers is that most of their weight is concentrated at the base. Given their large capacity (16 oz.) and wider opening at the top, I had concerns about how easily they might tip over when full, but their strategic weight distribution actually seems to offer plenty of stability. In addition to this, the sheer width of their side walls & ribbed surface help dissipate heat and provide a grippy surface... Alas, a tumbler on which I'm not going to accidentally burn my hand picking up freshly brewed coffee, neither am I fazed by condensation or the risk of slippery catastrophe when I reach for my iced lattes. Whether my beverage is piping hot or ice cold, I can easily hold onto these tumblers without worrying about what's inside.On top of all that, the lid is actually leak-proof, aside from maybe a drop or two of liquid that may gradually seep through the straw-hole over a couple minutes [without a straw]. It leaks slightly faster when a straw is inserted [& capped, presumably, so I'm only talking about the lid here], but I was still pretty surprised at how well the little silicone "flaps" minimize leakage through the lid with either set-up.With this type of tumbler, a few drops slowly seeping through is actually prettyyyy minimal. I'd easily give this lid a 10/10 rating for its seal - straw or no straw, no questions asked... and let's be real clear here. For my fellow die-hard coffee drinkers, I highly doubt this tiny leak would actually present an issue for y'all... Yep, y'all know exactly what I'm talking about, and I know one when I see one, alright? Mhm, you get it...As for the rest of you [coffee haters]... I'm feeling generous so I'll translate, just this once. Those beautiful little beans happen to be synonymous with pure joy, got it? So if you suspect your loved one has a gnarly coffee habit, knock over their coffee when they're not looking and see how long it takes 'em to figure it out**.**WARNING: Do not get caught. If they figure out what happened & your suspicions are correct, they may never speak to you again... and this might be the least of your worries. I have no way of telling you what could happen in the midst of such an atrocity, so you better be prepared to run for your life. You've been warned. Proceed at your own risk.Anywaysssss, back to the topic.... We tend to immediately notice when we've knocked our mug over because our yield of recovered coffee decreases with every second it goes unnoticed, and Lord knows we need every drop we can get of that caffeinated goodness. Plus, I read somewhere that wasting coffee is one of the seven deadly sins, and... well, that's a risk I'm not willing to take... I would bet that most other coffee lovers out there would share this sentiment.In all seriousness, the straws are the only piece in this set that could use some tweaks. Personally, I would prefer them to be slightly longer & thicker (ie., more durable), though their current design is still completely functional & appropriate for everyday use. In all honesty, I'm not sure I would've even noticed if I didn't have another set of glass straws laying around that happened to match that description... Since I had this set available, it was only a matter of time before I tried to pair them with these tumblers... and guess what? They. Were. PERFECT.For those who are considering replacing these straws with another set, rest assured that the lids can easily accommodate wider/thicker straws without sacrificing performance. If I'm remembering correctly, my other set of glass straws (12 straws + 6 silicone straw caps/covers) was priced somewhere between $5-$12, so you could easily switch out these thinner ones to suit your preferences, and you shouldn't need to spend a small fortune to do it. Again, you don't need to buy more straws, but I thought this information might be helpful if you're on the fence about this product for one reason or another.If you ask me, these tumblers are definitely worth the investment! Highly recommend!
