Restaurant/Commercial Use Quality. GREAT for high heat and heavy metal cookware
This pot holder set is an excellent value for the money. I cook and bake a lot and am exposed to a lot of hot pan handles and general high heat. This set has been reliable for protection and the high quality of the construction and materials definitely stands out.The silicone is scald resistant. I have tested this personally with my metal handle skillets. It provides solid protection when handling hot cookware, baking trays, and my oven-safe dishes coming straight out of the oven. The material portion is a very heavyweight canvas-like material. This was very impressive to me as it creates an effective barrier without feeling bulky or stiff. There is a slight stiffness when first using the pot holders, which would be typical of any new pot holders. These relax quickly and remain sturdy for safe use.The grip design is a standout feature for me as someone who has chef quality, metal handle, over safe cookware. The honeycomb texture offers excellent traction. I am a bit of a butterfingers when I get to moving fast while cooking, so the added grip is a big bonus for me. It is especially helpful when dealing with heavier cookware, like my solid stainless heavy stockpots. The flexibility of the silicone allows for good control while still feeling sturdy in my hands.I store my pot holders in a drawer, but I do appreciate the storage option of the lanyard cuff for hanging. The hidden lanyard cuff makes it easy to hang the pot holders on a hook. This is a small design detail that doesn't apply to my use, but I can see where when used it would help keep the kitchen organized while ensuring they’re always easy to grab when needed.Cleaning and maintenance are simple so far with about a week's worth of use right before Christmas and a lot of baking going on. The silicone surface wipes clean easily, as can the heavy canvas outer fabric. When this set needs deeper cleaning, they can be placed in the dishwasher without issue. They don’t retain stains or odors, which is a big advantage for me so far. These pot holders have been used when making chili, meatball casserole, fritatta, and various cookies. No cross smells or smells attaching to the fabric or silicone.This set is versatile and well designed with solid quality materials, construction, and amazing seam work and sewing. Like surprisingly very very nice. These are restaurant/commercial kitchen quality without a huge investment, making them an excellent value for the home chef. Whether used as pot holders, oven mitts, or trivets for hot pots and pans, they perform consistently and feel durable.
