Very nice
Set of 4 natural slate charcuterie plates. They are 1/4" thick with unfinished edges. The backs have rubber pads in the corners so they sit softly and securely on the table or counter. Comes with 3 waxy chalk crayons that write easily but not smoothly, due to the unevenness of the surface. I did notice that the different trays had different consistencies on the surface - one was almost entirely smooth, while the others had varying degrees of unevenness, but this is to be expected for a natural material. It was easy to clean the chalk off the surface with a water. They have a matte finish as expected. The size is appropriate for them to be used as single-serving plates or for creating charcuterie trays around a single cheese each. I would say the price is good for the quality.

Stylish Slate Change Up to My Usual Charcuterie Setup
These slate boards are a great upgrade from my usual wooden charcuterie boards. The black/gray surface really makes cheeses, meats, fruits, and snacks stand out, and they feel solid and high quality.Yes – the set is heavy when all four are boxed up, but that’s to be expected with real slate. Each board is individually wrapped, which is great for gifting (though just note that the set only comes with 3 pieces of chalk, as listed). One of mine arrived broken, but it wasn’t a big deal since I mostly use one board at a time anyway.I love the uneven, natural-looking edges – kind of like a live edge table. It gives the boards a slightly rugged, upscale vibe that makes them feel more special. The padded feet on the bottom are also a nice touch to protect your surfaces. One board was the perfect size for a snack spread for two. I tried using the chalk to label items, and while it worked, writing small on a full board was a little tricky. The chalk didn’t rinse off with water but rubbed off easily with fingers. These are a fun, sleek change from wood and would look amazing used together at a party for a cohesive, modern setup.
