Love It!!! Can be disassembled for full cleaning so I don't contaminate my cultures
I strain a lot of kefir and metals tend not to be healthy for cultures. I have to remove the kefir grains every other day if not every day. They're like little gummy beads hidden somewhere within the kefir. Even though the funnel is stainless, the grains stay on the cloth so I don't have to worry about the metal. Since this is a fermenting milk product that stays out at room temperature all the time, I have to be careful with contamination. My previous strainer was very similar to this, but I couldn't take the components apart. Every time I put it through the dishwasher, I would get little crumbs of food caught in the folds of the fabric and that was a huge problem for me. I would stand there and try to scrape all of the food out of the little creases which was impossible to do perfectly. With this product, there is an upper and a lower plastic ring that can be separated. I can disassemble it before cleaning everything or, if the fabric gets a hole in it, I could theoretically replace it with another fine straining cloth if I could find such a thing. The plastic rings fit perfectly inside the rim of the funnel. Very happy that I can finally clean things properly to maintain my cultures safely. :)Only thing I would change is I wish that they would provide different mesh sizes to make it easier to also strain thicker foods. These are all 200 mesh. I can't see the weave, it's so fine.

Works very well
We use this to filter milk from goats with after collecting it. We put a couple of frozen water bottles in the milking bucket so the milk is cooled down in seconds. It is then poured through this funnel and filter combo straight into bottles and refrigerated. Done!
