Made very cheap, non replaceable wire.

wow.. these are really really cheap..... like $10 may have been too much to pay cheap...... the wires seem to be soldered to the ends of the metal "handles" non replaceable.... thats not a good sign, but I guess we will try them for a while and see if they last...... I will upgrade this if they hold up through a lb block of cheese, but I have my doubts. Well as promised I would give the ma run for their money and they hold up much better than I thought they would. They are not going to win any beauty shows, but seem pretty good for the money.

Great cheese cutters!

I am a cheese fiend! I actually had one cheese order this year go over $1100! I really like these little cutters, especially for softer cheeses like Havarti, but if you are careful, they work with the harder cheeses as well. I did break one already, but had been in a hurry.

Flimsy and Ineffective

These cheese slicers are not very good. The largest one snapped while I was trying to slice through a block of cheddar. The others either stretched out or the tines squeezed together, causing the metal wire to sag and making them completely ineffective.You really do get what you pay for here. The materials feel cheap, and the overall quality is poor. It felt like I was using disposable tools, which might have been the intent, though I do not remember seeing them marked that way.In the end, I threw them away after one use. Definitely a waste of money.

I love these

I've had many cheese slicers over the years but nothing beats the simplicity of these items. The ones that come attached to a board are impossible to clean with out using a wooden skewer to get in the groove and they also limit the size of the cheese you can cut. Not so with these. Yes, I have to hold the cheese in one hand in order to carry the slice through to the bottom, but in my opinion the maneuverability it offers is unparalleled.
