Pumpkins So Fun!

I purchased the Pumpkin Cookie Cutter Set, very fun for making Halloween cookies. But I had another idea. Sweet potato pumpkins! And you know sweet potatoes are very difficult to slice, especially evenly. So I used the Safe Mandolin Slicer to make nice even slices, safely. Then I cut pumpkins from the slices with my Pumpkin Cookie Cutter. Also I boiled the trimmings and made mashed sweet potato and shaped more pumpkins also with the Pumpkin Cookie Cutter set. One nice size sweet potato made more than I could eat for Halloween, so I froze some, for Thanksgiving! Very happy with purchase.

Decent cookie cutters

Not the thickest or sturdiest but they get the job done. They’re thin but not so thin that they’re flimsy or unusable. You still are able to cut cookie dough and maintain the Dino shape. Almost all of them are easily identifiable as dinosaurs. They’re easy enough to clean.

I ordered these New Dinosaur Cookie Cutter Set - 7 Piece Stainless Steel Fun Dino Cookie Cutters to add to my kitchen arsenal.This dinosaur themed set of cookie cutters are made from stainless steel, and vary in size. They range from a stegosaurus about 2” tall to a diplodocus about 3 1/4” tall. The cutters are lightweight and fit the hand easily. The stainless steel is sturdy, and the cutters easily keep their shapes.I love making sugar cookies, and these cutters worked well with a standard sugar cookie dough, rolled to a medium thickness. I liked the dinosaur shaped cutters the best; the foot cutter and the hatching egg were less interesting to me aesthetically, but it’s fun to have a range of choices.The dinosaur theme takes me back to when my now teenage son was tiny… he went through a big dinosaur phase in his toddler years. Now he’s doing his college applications—time flies! I made him a batch of dinosaur cookies with these cutters, and we laughed remembering his “Dino days” when he would wear his plushy costume and maraud around the neighborhood, stomping T Rex style.These cute cookie cutters would be great for a kid’s party, or a classroom party. If you have a toddler in their dinosaur phase, you can use these for cookies and more. Cutout dinosaur shaped sandwiches. Dino shaped cheese. You can even trace inside the cutters with a light pencil to make Dino coloring sheets.I’ve been putting these through the dishwasher on the top shelf, since the sales page said they’re rust resistant. I put them in a plastic basket that held bottle pieces once upon a time ago, so they don’t wind up in the bottom of the dishwasher. They clean up very easily, and no rust. They’re also easy to wash up by hand.At the current price ($12.99) this cute set of dinosaur themed cookie cutters are good quality and inexpensive. They come in a decorative box suitable for storage of gifting. These could be a cute stocking stuffer, or a nice addition to a kitchen gift basket for a wedding, housewarming, or apartment warming.By the way, my husband loved dinosaurs when he was a kid too… and he got a kick out of my Dino sugar cookies.
