Very pretty - glad I bought it
I bought two of these lighted dessert towers for a special event. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the instructions weren’t spectacular. However, after a couple false starts, I was able to put the first one together in just a few minutes. The second was easy and took even less time. The lights are a bit fiddly but they do look pretty. I’m glad I bought these and would definitely recommend this particular brand.Pros:Can change the color of lights for other events simply by using a different color led light string.Relatively easy to assemble.Very pretty when lit.Acrylic tiers feel sturdy enough for quite a few dessert pieces and the edges are beveled and not “sharp.”Light string is ample and provides enough lights.Cons:Instructions could be better.Would be nice if tiers were labeled “top” and “bottom” with a removable sticker.Stringing the lights takes a bit of patience and creativity.Recommendations for assembly:- Open the plastic covering the tiers carefully and save the plastic coverings and box if you want to disassemble for storage.- Assemble on a protected surface so you do not scratch the acrylic.- Bottom Tier: Make sure that you have the “top” side of tier (i.e. the side with the countersunk holes) facing up. Place all 4 acrylic feet underneath the bottom side of tier beneath a corresponding countersunk hole. Then insert the “head” screws by threading the screw from the top of the tier and into each foot on the bottom of the tier. Tighten with screwdriver (provided).- Remaining tiers: Pretty self-explanatory using the pictures in the instructions.- Remove any stubborn bits of acrylic left from the manufacturing process with a microfiber cloth.- Note: Small holes “without countersinking” are for threading light strings.Transportation:- Cut four holes the size of each foot in the box top to make transportation easier. I used a US quarter coin as a circle template and cut with an X-Acto knife. (See photos.)- Place the battery box inside the box so it will be secure and not dangle during transportation.- Place assembled tower into the foot-sized holes and use the box as a handhold to keep fingerprints off the acrylic and for more stability when moving it.
