Pretty sturdy, but more about looks than function
Let's start with the good news. These utensils look quite nice, and they have some weight to them, so they're not just flimsy dollar store stuff. The finish on them is also quite nice, not shiny and glossy. I like the satin finish on these quite a lot. But the handles aren't very comfortable to hold. I find that my hand starts to fatigue quite a bit when I hold them for very long, and I tend to get dribbles on the side of my mouth when I use the spoons for soup or other liquids, because the head of the spoon is a bit too round, so it doesn't create a natural spout on the eating end of the spoon. Overall, these look nice but they don't work well. And they're quite expensive on top of that. I can get a full service for 8 at the local restaurant supply store, in several different colors, that look just as nice and work far better, for probably a bit less than this. And ultimately, there's really no good price for a product that doesn't work well. So this is a swing and a miss in my opinion.

Cheap coating, bad design, poorly made.
Awful product for many reasons. I'll give you the highlights. The ends of these are thin. Thin enough to stick through the bottom of the cutlery tray in my dish washer. Additionally, the size and shape of the small fork and spoon are comically small. Probably the same size as toddler spoons. The square edge of the handles also was minimal deburred and you could feel sharp conters from when there were punched out of the metal at the factory. The anodized coating came off within a few washings. The tines on the forks bent when becoming interlocked in the drawer. They weren't pried apart, just the act of them becoming intertwined and moving in my drawer caused them to bend within days, not weeks, of owning them. Avoid at all costs.

SUPER COOL matte finish flatware! 😎
Having just moved from very far away to a new home, I needed new flatware for our new kitchen. I've been looking for something a little different from typical flatware, and this is definitely where I found it!This flatware isn't just a little different - it's WAY different! It's different in all the right ways! Who says that flatware all has to be symmetrical across brands and styles? The chance to check out a new style and shape of flatware was a welcome one, as was the opportunity to order a matte finish as opposed to the old school mirror finish. While I really liked the idea of the black toned flatware, I went with the matte finish silver as a nod to Traditional (and I still think the black is absolutely gorgeous!).Okay... these utensils may look a little different from what we in the U.S. consider "normal" - but that's what makes these so unique! They're entirely functional, AND they look super cool! I read a few of the other reviews about how sharp the forks are, or the severe angle of the bend in the salad fork, etc. First, I don't find the forks any sharper than typical forks. All forks are sharp! These are not "weapon-like" at all... They are just forks with an interesting shape - to which folks should be able to easily adjust. These pieces beautify my place settings. Are the teaspoons a little smaller than other teaspoons? Sure! They're also rounder and slightly deeper. And...they do their job (they "spoon" things). By contrast, they make the tablespoons SEEM larger than other tablespoons, but I compared them to others from all around my kitchen and found no significant difference. They just have a bold look, which I like a lot!Again, every piece is just as functional (and safe) as any other flatware there, and just as easy to use.The set as a whole is fairly heavy. I like this in quality flatware. They should have some weight to them and the weight is certainly not off-putting. Furthermore, the weight inspires confidence in their longevity and demonstrates durability. The forging seems to be done with care. Each type of utensil appears to have been designed to be asymmetrical to its partner. Like the two kinds of forks and the two kinds of spoons. They complement one another in a very cool and artistic way.Aesthetics are completely subjective. If you like the way they look, and you trust yourself to adjust to using a new shape and design, then these are for you! They are definitely for me and my "cheffy" husband!I believe the price point to be spot-on for a 40 piece flatware set of this quality. If you look around, you'll find that flatware styles are changing everywhere and the prices vary wildly. I'd done a research prior to ordering these, and I can say with 100% confidence that this set should be sought after by those looking for a change. Change is fun!In summary: This flatware set is highly artistic AND functional! If you crave something different for your table setting, you should commit confidently to this flatware purchase.

Unusual, small silverware
I was attracted to this set for the simple design and the matte finish. What the pictures don’t show is how much smaller the pieces are than most. I have provided pictures comparing them them to the mixture currently in my kitchen. Specific differences to note:- The forks have a very strong bend in them. The salad fork is particularly small, almost more like an horderve fork.- The larger spoon is described as a dinner spoon, but usually this is called a soup spoon. This is a lovely and unique shape for a soup spoon.- The smaller spoon is called a teaspoon, and that is what is normally used for most food. However, like the salad fork, it is very small. Could be good as a dainty dessert spoon or for tea/coffee. At this moment I am eating yogurt with it, and it is kind of fun. Just very different. Some of the pieces have a few imperfections. When I first opened the package there were some rough edges, especially on the forks. After one trip through the dishwasher, though, the edges seemed to have smoothed out.

Inconsistency and jagged sharp edges
This silverware set seems like it could be really premium quality, and with just a bit more attention to detail it would have been. Overall the handles feel really good in the hand. The pieces have a nice weight to them.Unfortunately the pieces are not consistently shaped. Some handles have more rounded edges than others, some handles are thinner. I also found the eating ends of the forks & spoons to be shaped differently, some have more 'bend' than others. Really just doesn't look very nice when pieces are stacked up.Worse than that though are the jagged edges on many of the fork pieces. When cutting the 'fork' shape out of the metal, they left sharp 90 degree corners on the tines. Many of those edges still have a jagged burr on them that is sure to cause abrasion and cuts on users' mouths while eating. I would not feel comfortable giving these to my family to eat with.A quick pass with some sandpaper could have knocked those burrs off and slightly rounded the cut edges, completely eliminating the issue, but they didn't do that. At this price point I would expect a lot more attention to details like this.
