I take this with me to restaurants when I buy soup or stew. Using this avoids getting a plastic container for hot soup. Haven’t had any issues with any leakage.
First off I want to point out that the pictures used to advertise the size of this product is not accurate at all. In fact, it is much smaller! I have used this product a few times and have found it to come in handy. I took rice in mine with vegetables and chicken. That day I worked a rather long shift so when I got around to eating my food it was still a little warm (after seven hours). For me personally, I feel like this best works for soups rather than solid meals. It is a bit awkward trying to scoop food out of the container because it is deeper but I like that the mouth is wide. For those with small hands, you may struggle with getting a good grip around the lid to twist it open. I do love the look of the thermo food container. I have had several co-workers ask about it. The product itself feels like it's made of good material although the small bowl is a bit flimsy, it keeps your food separate.Pros:-keeps food warm (up to 6 hours)-Easy to carry handle-non-slip bottom-foldable metal fork-tight lid to ensure no leaks-easy to clean and store away-great for soups or drinks such as hot chocolate, tea, coffee (you can share with coworkers)Cons:-do not use small metal bowl for anything that will easily melt or get soggy!-can't fit much in the small metal bowl-a bit awkward to eat out of
This insulated food container had me going for a minute. It is quite cold here, and there wasn't any way that the lid was coming off. I tried and tried, and gave up and put it aside. When I tried again later when it was room temperature, I was able to remove the lid. And I'm so glad I did!The photos in the listing with people, are misleading. This isn't a huge insulated vessel. It is somewhat petite, as is shown in the listing that includes the product size and dimensions. It is about the size of a well-known ground coffee can that is plastic with a black top and easily found in supermarkets - you know the one.It holds 38 ounces to the brim, though the lid would displace some of that, and they say you should leave an inch of space at the top if it is liquid. If you want to insert the top tray, then you get a bit more than half of the room on the bottom. And since the removable tray isn't surrounded by the insulation, it isn't as useful.I have placed items that didn't need to be kept warm or cold in the removable basket, and covered that with a beeswax sheet, or directly into a plastic zipper bag.Nowhere does it say this is dishwasher safe. They do discuss ways of cleaning it, and the container should not be immersed, making it not compatible with a dishwasher. I imagine the tray insert and the included spork are the only items you could clean in a dishwasher.I always preheat or chill anything I want hot or cold (including travel mugs, etc.) so the directions stating that weren't a surprise. (Insert whine here: WHY must instructions be in tiny print? Would it really cost THAT much more to have a larger insert? I don't need assistive lenses, but at this rate these instruction booklets will cause it!)I thoroughly washed everything in warm soapy water, and they cleaned easily.I first filled it with hot water, emptied it, filled it with pasta, sauce, and meatballs. When we wanted lunch 3 hours later at our meeting, it was still hot. Not as hot as just heated, but hot enough to be appetizing.I've also chilled it and used it with greek yogurt and berries. With that, I used the insert, and put some granola in that, to mix in later. Every thing was cold, and the granola remained dry and crunchy. I *did* notice that I struggled a bit in removing the lid, for some reason when the vessel is really cold, the lid doesn't want to come off. I didn't have that problem when the vessel was hot. This is pretty and elegant. It isn't something I would use daily, but often enough to be be worthy of precious kitchen space! It really looks like something that would be in a swag bag, and you'd wonder how to find it.It's too soon to know how it will last, if the suction seal top fails, etc. I don't expect it will, it seems very well made. I hope it lasts forever!
I really like it. I think that the color is pretty. I think that the capacity is great 40 ounces for thermos is fantastic. I love the handle that it comes with as well. It makes caring it really easy if you don’t have a bag or anything I think that the durability is great honestly I’ve dropped out a couple times now and I don’t have any dents or scratches on the outside which is really surprising and I’m really pleased with that. The only reason that I’m not giving a five stars that I have arthritis in my hands and it was a little bit hard to open if it’s been sitting in the fridge for a while and the metal gets cold so if you have any kind of thing like that in your hands like I do. I would just be aware of that but other than that, it really is a fantastic product. I think that it shipped well. I’m really pleased with how well it works and I highly recommend it if you are a teacher or someone who takes their lunch
