Leakproof jar

This is a solid glass jar, with a plastic leakproof lid that is vacuum sealed. It’s perfectly cylindrical and is perfect for my brown sugar. The seal is used by pressing the lid into place at the mouth of the jar, and then lowering the tab to create and vacuum seal. I tested the seal by filling the jar with water and setting it upside down. Definitely no leaks after 10 minutes. So this jar will keep anything airtight. It would be great for nuts, candy, cereal, oats, even soup or sauces because of its tight seal. The look is sleek and inconspicuous, so it would match almost any decor. Cleaning is super easy with soap and water, though I put mine through the dishwasher. They came out sparkling, with no signs of cracking or warping, and the seal was still effective.

Thin glass and a broken lid

I ordered these glass storage containers specifically to use for white sugar and brown sugar because the airtight lids were a big selling point. The size really is ideal for that purpose, and when the lids were working properly, they did seal tightly and kept the contents fresh. I also liked being able to see exactly how much I had left at a glance, which is always helpful in a busy kitchen.Unfortunately, the quality just is not there. One of the lids broke the very first time I removed it from the jar. There is a small pin that connects the plastic handle piece to the rest of the lid, and it popped loose immediately. I have tried to figure out how to put it back together, but it does not seem possible. On top of that, the glass itself feels very thin. I do not feel comfortable using these daily because they seem like they would shatter easily if they were bumped or tipped over.It is disappointing because the concept and size are good, but the execution falls short. In summary, these jars have potential, but the fragile glass and poorly constructed lids make them hard to trust for regular kitchen use.
