Unusual, but very useful & nice to have

When I ordered these, I didn't realize the scoops were two different sizes. That was a pleasant surprise. I began using these as soon as they were washed. I was making a pasta salad & decided to give them a try. I used a smaller one. It did a really good job with mixing the ingredients. The scoop is fairly large & it easily slid around the edge of the bowl & scraped the bottom of the bowl effectively. The pasta salad was mixed quickly. When I served the salad, I used the scoop for serving. The bowl is large enough to scoop up a serving in a single scoop.I've used the long scoops for stew & chili. I always make a big batch in a huge pot, so there's plenty for several meals, plus more to freeze for easy meals in the future. The long spoon is perfect for this. With the long handle, I was able to get all the way down to the bottom of the pot so that everything was well-mixed & nothing stuck to the bottom of the pot.I remember thinking when I first opened the scoops that there were an awful lot of them & it seemed like a bit too much. But once I started using them, I liked them so much that I was happy to have a spare long handled scoop & short handled scoop while the others were in the dishwasher.The scoops are made of silicone, but it isn't a super flexible silicone. They aren't like a silicone bowl scraper. They're stiffer. But because of the shape of them & the stiffness of the silicone, they can both scrape the edges of a bowl well & hold up under the pressure of mixing thick ingredients, like potato salads & thick stews.They're priced at about $19.00 or $4.75 apiece, which is reasonable in my opinion. Because the handles are wooden, these should probably not be put in the dishwasher. That said, I have put them through the dishwasher & they came out just fine. In a pinch, I suppose you could to the same, but over time cleaning these in the dishwasher will ruin the wood. I have put them in the dishwasher, just because I was in a hurry to get the dishes done, but it's not something I will do regularly.I did have trouble finding a place for these in my utensil drawer. They're large & a bit bulky. With lots of other items in my utensil drawer, there was just no room. I has a clay crock that wasn't being used, so I keep them in that on the counter. That's worked out fine & it's kind of nice having them there on the counter because it's handy to just grab one of them while I'm cooking.

Awesome, versatile, durable spoonulas

These spoons are AWESOME. I love the silicone spoonula--it is just the right size to both cook and serve meals. They are so easy to clean and so versatile...I just love them. I think it's crazy that they come in a pack of four--I ended up having my mom try them out and she echoes my sentiments. They are great for stirring, mixing, or serving food right from the pan as we do in my house. The handles are long, but not super long--so there is no fear of burning your hands. I have used these spoons to make pancakes, cake, stir fries, soup, and to serve lasagna.These spoonulas are durable and made well, such that the silicone seems like it will not come apart from the wooden handles. And here is the one issue I have with the spoons: the wooden handles. Wooden handles make these spoons not dishwasher safe, and if left in the sink the wood will start to grow mildew. I also prefer a silicone spatula that is all silicone, so that bacteria and grimy gunk don't get caught between the spoon and the handle (impossible if it's all one piece).These spoons are a great value at 4 for ~$17. I love them and would order them over again.

Very useful cooking utensils.

This is a really nice set of cooking utensils. They are sort of a cross between a spoon and a spatula. They seem very well made and durable. The wooden handles are comfortable to hold, and I like the hole in each that allows for hanging them on a rack. The silicone part is rigid enough for mixing and scooping, but the end is still soft and flexible. I also love that they are easy to clean and dishwasher safe.The spatulas are surprisingly versatile and can be used for a lot of different dishes. Using two of them together is great for mixing salads and even serving. They have a fairly deep bowl shape and can hold quite a bit of food. I especially like them for cooking scrambled eggs.Overall, I am very happy with them. They are a great value for the set of 4 with 2 different sizes.

Spatula and Spoon In One

This shape is a combination of spatula and spoon and is called Spoonula. I am a home chef and do bulk cooking most of the time. Using spatula while cooking and spoon when scooping out from pot has been a common practice but this unique shape is co convenient to use. This helps stirring the vegetables and I can use the same spoon to serve. That saves dishes to wash too.This set has 2 spatula with short handle and 2 with longer handle. The short ones are perfect for mixing. I use the longer ones for cooking. The silicon material is stiff but also slightly flexible which helps scrape the pot gently without scratching the non stick surface. The handle is made of wood which does not get hot even if I leave the spatula in pot while cooking. They are easy to clean and don't stain. They are dishwasher safe but I usually wash them by hand. It's a great set to have in active kitchen.
